This was absolutely worth popping in to see! Wasn't sure what to expect from a castle in the middle of a built up city, but loved it! We were fortunate to get in during Christmas so it was all done up with the tree etc. Absolutely worth a visit! Beautiful area around too. There is a little bit at the back of the gardens which usually has some kind of art exhibit on which can be interesting.

Beautiful caste in every season. This castle has different features in 4 seasons and every time I’m impressed by it… I love more the style of this castle like gothic architecture and chic than gorgeous/ colorful design of castles.  I also loved the Christmas market at Dublin castle.

We visited the castle and the christmas market at the castle grounds and it was great. The castle entry had a shorter queue close to closing time which I believe is a good time to visit. You can visit many state rooms and the grand ballroom on the unguided tour which is free. You can also visit the chapel while at castle grounds which is a plus. Highly recommended!

Beautiful visit today! Christmas markets were gorgeous, we were able to visit the castle for free too! I bought an intricate ornament from Wild bird Studios which was one of the stalls. The security guards at the exit of the markets today was very helpful and friendly.  We were blown away by the chapel display of the nativity and the angels floating around, plus someone was playing gorgeous Christmas songs on the organ whilst we were there.
We learned a lot during the Revenue museum where there was a lovely gentleman that showed us around. We also visited the zodiac exhibit at the library and the craft exhibit next door which was beautiful ! It was nice to see Palestine flags in the Silk Road cafe, where we had some yummy lattes.
