This hotel is absolutely stunning. The views are unparalleled and the grounds are beautiful. The food we had there was excellent as well. Unfortunately, the service there was some of the worst I've experienced. Since this is a boutique hotel I would expect the service to be much better, however, this was not the case. We would sit out at the pool as the only people there and not see anyone for over 30 minutes. At one point, I had to leave a go to the front desk to try and get a drink. The rooms are also beautiful but you can hear every noise from outside and from the other rooms. It's been a year since our stay but since our stay we have booked with other 5 star resorts and it's clear this one needs some improvements to hold up to other more established hotels.  Overall, the lack of service really put a damper on our time spent at this hotel.

Highly highly recommend. Villa Lario is a beautiful property on lake Como, with kind staff, incredible food, stunning rooms. Its position on the lake makes for spectacular sunsets enjoyed over cocktails. It feels calmer and more relaxing than other areas around the lake. We absolutely loved our stay and will be back many more times…. As long as we can get in :)

Our stay at Villa Lario generally was nice but not a five-star experience. They have beautiful grounds, well-curated spaces, good food and it’s a beautiful location. Service too was generally good, though a bit simple and nonchalant at times (not five-star quality). The main issue I’m taking with the establishment is the fact that some of their amenities were severely lacking for a five star ranking, which detracted from the overall experience. The beds in the double suite were astoundingly uncomfortable. A thin mattress on a wooden platform frame. The pillows were literally foam slabs. I have slept in better beds in random inns than this hotel. Due to this reason, the overall comfort of the stay was lacking. A five star hotel experience shouldn’t leave us feeling sleep-deprived and this disappointed. I’d think that the first criteria for a five-star tier is for plush comforts like extraordinary beds and pillows (or at least more comfortable than an Airbnb). In the future I will spend my money at a different hotel for these reasons, guaranteeing all five-star criteria are heeded when I am looking for a special experience.

My family and I stayed here for a few days in May and the hotel is wonderful— extraordinary views, excellent rooms and cool access to the lake. The property has a great combination of nice gardens and beautifully appointed buildings. But what set it apart for us were the staff, all of whom were outstanding. Of particular note were Martina and Alessandra, each of whom were perfectly responsive and helpful in planning for the trip and our activities during our stay, and everyone on the team in the restaurant at breakfast. The boat tour organized by Martina, complete with picnic baskets, was the memory of a lifetime.  And the bar staff, especially Domenico and Nicola, were superb, knowledgeable and truly passionate barmen. The drinks at the bar are special. Grazie a mille Villa Lario!!!!

Villa Làrio is an incredible hotel nestled within   a stunningly beautiful, quiet, and tranquil section of Lake Como. From the moment you enter the property, descending down a winding private road that offers incredible elevated views of the lake, you feel wrapped in luxury and relaxation. Because of the limited number of rooms, the property never feels crowded or busy. The rooms, all suites, are beautiful and feel more like high end rooms in a modern villa than traditional hotel rooms. They are spacious, minimally detailed to allow your attention to be focused on the natural beauty around you, and yet filled with modern luxuries like a kitchenette, fast WiFi, and air conditioning that while not as strong as what you might be used to in American hotels, is perfectly adequate to feel comfortable on even the hottest days. We travelled to villa lario with a 7 month old baby and the staff never wavered in making us feel comfortable, accommodated, and fully welcomed. Food here is delicious. The menus are not expansive, but every dish we had was delicious. The pool is cool and refreshing and provides incredible views of the lake. There is a swimming platform that allows you to jump in the lake as well as a seating area at lake level that provides a quiet retreat for reading and relaxing in total peace. We will be coming back, hopefully soon, and would highly recommend staying at Villa Lario to anyone looking for peace, relaxation, excellent service, and extreme natural beauty in their lake Como visit.
