I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the restaurant Dulchemente in downtown Olbia on Sardinia island, Italy. This was the best restaurant we tried on the island during our stay. Everything was highly delicious, eye-pleasing and creative. Highly recommended if you are closeby.

The food is in general ordinary however the ingredients are very fresh. The price is fine for a Michelin restaurant without stars. Service is very good.

Well, first, the restaurant is still listed as being located in Olbia. To be very clear - it is not. It has relocated to a remote location about 25 minutes outside of town. The view is beautiful, however, the restaurant is not what you expect of a Michelelin star. When we called to tell them we were in town and too far to get there, they told us we would be charged 50 euros a person if we did not show. We finally got there and the place was not busy. No wonder they were holding us hostage to arrive for our reservation.

Once we did sit down, the service was a joke. It became comical at how little they came to check on us. God forbid we requested an item, like a new fork,  olive oil, or just to order, it would take an hour at a time to arrive. I understand in Italy things move slower, but I’m pretty sure our server may have gone to take a nap for most of the evening.

The food was nothing to write home about and they didn’t even bother on the presentation of the dishes (the food we were served looked nothing like the photos in the other reviews). I don’t know how this is a Michelin rated restaurant. Again, it was honestly a joke.

Their Michelin star really needs to be reconsidered or at least do not expect a Michelin star experience.

Beautiful place with great service. Garden terrace could be updated with a landscape concept. The grilled fish plate is too simple for this level of restaurant, however they have high quality products. Big highlight of the evening… the desert plate called la freschezza, with different flavors and textures it’s really well thought out and prepared. Bravo!

Fabulous evening with exceptional fine dining. We chose a la carte. Having raw red prawn risotto followed by red snapper. The wine recommendation was perfect. Service was friendly and efficient. It was a shame that so few people were eating here, but that's probably because it's still not peak.
