I've now stayed at the Milu Hotel on three occasions, and every time has been fantastic. The location is just about perfect, within easy walking distance of all the major tourist destinations as well as the train station.  The rooms are very clean.  Finally, and most importantly for me, the hotel staff is outstanding.  They have assisted me over the years with airport travel arrangements, restaurant reservations, and other odds and ends --- and they have even been willing to humor my poor attempts at speaking Italian.  (An example of how good the staff is: My most recent flight to Florence was diverted to Pisa, and before we had even landed, the hotel had already reached out to assist.)  There are very few hotels that I am loyal to, but I no longer bother looking anywhere else when staying in Firenze.

The Bad: definitely not a 4 star hotel, I'd rate it as a 3 due to no facilities beyond the most necessary and very small and lackluster breakfast.

Great location, the room is clean, the staff are very friendly, there is 24-hour coffee, the Internet is stable, and it is very close to various attractions and stations. There are have a sweet card in the room 🥰🥰🥰, and there are free drinks in the refrigerator. Juice, water. The staff are very friendly and speak fluent English. I think this is a 5-star hotel and should not only be 4-star, the best hotel in Florence!

This hotel is top notch. I've never been treated with such hospitality. They went over and beyond. I celebrated my birthday at this hotel, and for them to gift me a bottle of wine just melted my heart. They truly made me feel like family. Their service was impeccable, from the valet to the great amenities they provided. This hotel is situated in a centralized location with most all major sites just a 5 minute walk away. The rooms were super modern and very clean. I'd give this place 10 stars if I could. Thank you for a real good time, Milu!

I highly recommend Hotel Milu. I stayed there for a night each at the beginning and end of a week near Siena. The hotel and the rooms are wonderful, as is the common area on the 5th floor. The hotel is centrally located to explore Florence. Great hotel if you are looking for a place to stay in Florence.

Great location and good value, we booked online a triple room had great lighting, large room, nice bathroom, mini fridge with complimentary drinks and snacks. We enjoyed the free coffee and water on the 5th floor. The elevator is open and large and next to the stairs. Staff was helpful and booked our last dinner rsvp for us at Osteria Della Tre Panche. Breakfast buffet available early was helpful. It was nice to drop off goodies and shopping and head out easily from the central location. Highly recommended!

I love this hotel so much I want to come back to Florence just to stay here! I found this hotel on Expedia. The room was perfect; the service was perfect; the location was 10/10. I walked less than 10 minutes to most places I wanted to visit. My favorite was the espresso machine on the fifth floor in the "caffetteria". They also gave complimentary water. I liked that they supplied the room with slippers. I didn't ask, but there was no hair conditioner in the bathroom. They did have lotion, shampoo, body wash, a vanity kit, and small soap bar. They cleaned the room every day and gave us fresh towels. You need to keep the key card in a slot for electricity in the room. They give you two key cards at check in.

This hotel was nothing but AMAZING during our 1 night stay in Florence. It is located on Florence's version of "Rodeo drive"...meaning our neighbors were names like Montblanc, Gucci, Prada, Tiffany &Co (you get the point..). It is also within a 10 minute walk to the airport train station as well as to a majority of the main attractions in Florence. Our flight landed early the day we arrived and we decided to try our luck at an early check in. Well...we got lucky! We even got upgraded to their top floor (5th floor) rooms with private balconies!!! The room also had a complimentary minibar (sparkling/still water/ pear nectar/soda and two potato chips) which I ransacked. To make things even better, we got free breakfast and a free round of drinks offered to us after their elevator broke down. Now let me tell you more about the hotel: as you go up their elevator which is enclosed in a glass case, you'll see that each floor has its own unique art deco. Very cool. Top floor where we were staying had a mini hangout/lounge area along with complimentary teas/cappuccinos/lattes from their machine. And IF you ever get caught in the rain....they have a bucket of umbrellas for you. The reason why we were so impressed with this hotel was the service. Lets just say Bruno from the front desk was awesome and so was Ava. He was super apologetic about their elevator breaking, but hey...we were already thankful for our free room upgrade!...but then they kept offering us more AND MORE FREEBIE! Tbh the stair climbing wasn't even that bad..we got to look at art on the walls. Also, everyone always seemed so genuinely friendly and welcoming. It was a really good vibe. I'd totally stay there again...and bring all my friends ;)

Point of View - Anxious American who does not travel internationally or very often or at all. Pros - Room size. Bed size. View from the room. Free breakfast. Elevator. Very accommodating staff - personable, greets you when you enter and leave, has great recommendations, speaks English. Location location location. The location is what I would describe as a hotel nestled between luxury stores, there is a Gucci store right across of you and a Tiffany store nearby as well. The luxury and safety associated with those stores is noticed in the area. The overall vibe of the place is not broke boi living and not bougie like a four seasons, I would describe it as a boutique hotel or a mom and pop shop equivalent. Last but not least they have like a $5000 espresso machine that's located on the fifth floor which is 100% free at all times of the day, That machine alone made my entire trip cost-effective. Cons - smells like shit about 30 feet to the right of the hotel but it's no one's fault except for the gutter system. Overall - if you're an anxious American about safety and love free food and love being adjacent to bougie shit, at a reasonable price this is the hotel for you.

This was one of the best hotel experience I've had so far in Europe, hands-down. PROS - Bruno and Eva were absolutely fantastic, welcoming, nice, helpful, and accomodating - Upgraded rooms on check-in, to a higher view and a room with a balcony. Nice! - Location is fantastic, as it is walking distance from everything (Florence is small) - The stores literally just outside are all the big luxury names including Yves Saint Laurent, Gucci, Prada, etc. - There were umbrellas available for use for the patrons of the hotel. They even offered to let me keep the umbrellas since it would be raining the next day after I checked out. I didn't keep it, but I found the gesture very nice. - The mini-bar in the hotel room is completely complimentary. It includes to bags of chips, a soda, two bottles of water, and a bottle of pear juice. - There is a 24-hour service and front desk, and a 24-hour 5th floor drinks station with tea, coffee, water, and I believe alcohol CONS - The elevator broke during the stay, which was a little inconvenient as we had a room on the 5th floor. I will say that this is out of control of the hotel, and not something they want to happen either. They were very apologetic about this, and got it fixed the next day. The hotel also offered me a free drink and free breakfast for the inconvenience, which I appreciated. I don't hold it against them at all.

Eva was such a great help at the hotel! This was our best stay in Europe, comparing 5 separate hotels. They have coffee and tea all day and night in the top floor, with a rooftop terrace.

I decided to book a 2 night stay in Florence and found this unassuming hotel on Expedia. Not too many reviews here (literally just the one) but quite a number of positive reviews on TripAdvisor. Pulled up the location on Google Maps (street view still shows the old La Residenza hotel) and it's literally sitting on top of Fendi and Giorgio Armani. Although the hotel is situated in an area reminiscent of either Ginza or Rodeo Drive, the off-season (early December) rates were quite the bargain. The cheapest single bedroom was $90/night incl. tax and for whatever reason, breakfast was only an extra $4. Though I ultimately chose this hotel for the location - 800m from the station and walking distance to major tourist attractions - the cobblestone paths made dragging a four wheeled carry-on quite the journey. By the time I got close to the hotel, the streets were mobbed with foot traffic and there were Christmas lights hung above the streets along with art installations scattered throughout. Walking up to the hotel entrance you enter into a cramped hallway split in half by a reception desk and you're immediately greeted by the staff seated behind it. Once you check in, you're directed past the hallway into the stunning elevator area. A wood-framed glass enclosed elevator takes up the entire middle portion, flanked by a grand staircase that takes you up to the 4th floor. The walls are then turned into a rotating art gallery - each piece is available for sale - stretching all the way to the top floor. I've stayed in boutique hotels before but this likely takes the cake. While my second floor room was the smallest room size, 12 foot high ceilings made the room feel larger than it was despite the narrow width. Unlike the rest of the hotel, the in-room exhibition was limited to an artsy-shaped mirror (not for sale) and a framed painting. Though storage space was limited, there was a built in wall shelf with a few books, a coffee machine, and a nonfunctional retro TV. As it was rectangular in shape, there was only enough space for a bed on one end and on the other end, a wardrobe, a lounging chair, and a minibar (Heads up: the minibar is entirely free and consists of snacks, juice, and your choice or natural or sparkling water). As there's no table here, you can work from the top floor where there are tables and an also free-to-use automatic coffee machine. The bathroom is hidden behind a half folding door and while compact, has all the essentials. I've been in smaller shower stalls before and this one was plenty large. Much like the stylistic accents in the rest of the room, the whole shower door is a bright red piece of acrylic. The rest of the bathroom is covered in marble tile (probably ceramic), a very welcome deep sink, and another European shaped toilet. Leaving the room to the top floor, the grand staircase ends short of the 4th floor and continues through side stairs. If, however, you take the elevator it takes you straight into the middle of the fifth floor. There are seats and tables surrounding the glass enclosed elevator and a fireplace directly in front. Off to the sides are the outdoor terrace and the small breakfast room. Realistically, the breakfast here isn't the greatest though it was very much worth the $4. An attendant takes your egg order then you're free to grab whatever you want from the circular dining table which you then take to eat out by the terrace. Most days have the same selection of cured meats, pastries, snacks (frozen?), yogurts, and juices. A welcome start to the day, especially given how you have to walk everywhere in Florence. Fun fact: the elevator stopped working sometime at night (I swear it wasn't me) and someone spent an hour of their night inside it. Honestly, I can't really fault them since it was only recently inspected. Props to Sara(h?) for the great service. Ciao.

I Love this hotel. Only in Florence for one night so I booked here to be central to everything; in the heart of the luxury shopping district while still being 5 mins walk from the pointe Vecchio and Duomo. Hotel Milu is very central and has exceeded my expectations in every way. The dinning area on the 5th floor is a nicely styled space with great views of Florence's terra-cotta roofs and free water/coffee. My room is the lowest category available and is roomy, very comfortable, and stylish. All staff members I've interacted with have been warm and friendly. Overall a very stylish hotel with a phenomenal location and some lux touches for an incredibly reasonable rate.

I had booked 3 days to stay at Hotel Milu this week; unfortunately, due to the world pandemic of COVID-19 I was restricted from traveling. Hotel Milu's hotel manager was so understanding and helpful to walk me through the process to cancel my reservation. Believe me, I am so sad I will not get to see Italy at this time, explore Florence and this hotel; but what is comforting is knowing that the hotel manager was so hospitable to me as a virtual guest. This speaks volumes of their character and this is the kind of professionalism and kindness that customers appreciate. I look forward to the day that there are no restrictions to travel as I will most certainly re-book my stay with Hotel Milu. I hope all of the staff stays in good health and I look forward to my someday future visit.

Where do I even start! I really can't thank Bruno, Sara, Laura, Eva, Enrique and Christyalla (I hope I spelled that correctly) enough! They are everything anyone staying in a foreign country would expect from a concierge! From they're warm friendly smiles, to they're helpful food and cultural site recommendations Florence was a dream! Hotel Milu goes above and beyond to make your stay a memorable one! Before leaving every morning to go exploring the city, they would ask my brother and me if we knew where we were headed or if we needed a map, which they would make sure we knew every point of interest so if we did get lost all we would have to do is look up and walk towards the closest one and navigate from there. Bruno and Laura gave us some excellent food recommendations which are more traditional plates compared to the tourist spots. Sara and her sweet smile and soft voice told us where we could walk to get an incredible view of the entire city and also the best pizza restaurant I've ever eaten at in my entire life! Eva, such a sweetheart made a few phone calls for me and also told me where I can get the best sandwich in town! Christyalla with her bright smile was able to print train tickets for brother and I and also call us a taxi to the train station! Enrique had the graveyard shift so he pretty much listened to our travels for the day throughout the city! The maid service was also very kind as they saw my brother was sick after the first night and asked if he needed anything that wasn't offer in the free mini fridge! I also had breakfast 1 morning on the rooftop where Laura was very kind and asked if I needed more eggs (the best eggs I've had) or coffee or if I needed my plate cleared so I could go back for 2nd or 3rds! The room we stayed in are very modern with heated bathroom floors, standing marble shower, a heated towel rack and a bidet! Hotel Milu is walking distance from everything Florence has to offer, whether you would like to go sight seeing, to shopping or just to grab a bite to eat! All in all when I do visit Florence again I definitely know where I will be staying! Thank you to the whole staff for making us feel like family!
