Food Quality: home cooking style of dishes. The food is fresh and has a “grandma’s cooking” kind of vibe. Food is good, but not getting a wow feeling from it.

Portions: very nice portions. Visually looked like a small dish but was very filling.

Drinks: selection of wines, some local beer, soft drinks, etc.

Price: $$-$$$ depending on how many dishes and what you order, but can be very affordable.

Service: very friendly staff.

Atmosphere: a bit crowded and not much space between tables. As its a small place, the maximum amount of tables were places into it.

Highlights: home style cooking.

I highly recommend dining here. We had a lovely experience and want to thank Trattoria Antico Fattore team for be able to fit us in without a reservation. We shared the Bistecca alla Fiorentina for three and also ordered the following dishes: tagliatelle with beef ragu, tortelli fatti in casa all cream di tartufo bianco (fresh, handmade pasta with potato and a white truffle cream sauce) and the fried squash flowers. All were indicative of the regions ingredients, history and flavor! Nonna would be proud! Grazie mille. Torneremo!

My wife had been looking forward to visiting Florence for many years. We have visited the region ten times but have never stayed overnight. While staying at St Regis,  my wife found this fantastic restaurant. Maritzio and Flavio served us. We wanted to enjoy the Florentina, so we did not order a starter. The steak on the bone was excellent and cooked perfectly. The sides and wine were fantastic, too. I love Tuscan wine, every Chianti reserva they had was exceptional. However, we selected a grape we had never tried, which was not disappointing. Thank you, team Antico Fattore, for a beautiful lunch.
I should also say for historians this is the oldest restaurant in Florence.

Located at a nice point inside Florence historic centre. The menu covers various traditional dishes. We have tasted beef filet (great) and some side dishes, including fried artichokes that were superb.

EDIT: All four people at our table agreed that the meat was tough and inedible.   I personally tested 6 chunks to make sure it was not just the one piece.   I stand by my review and I have no reason to lie.

This used to be one of our favorite restaurants.   This visit left us dissapointed.  The two orders of stewed chingali came out so tough and dry it could not be chewed.  We are still trying to figure out what went wrong.  Our server offered to replace them with different dishes.  From there on, the food was ok but took far too long and left everyone eating at different times.  Also, this visit, the place was filled with loud tourists attempting to get a picture with every piece of meat that came out.  Can no longer recommend this place.  I think it went the way of the tourist trap.
