I booked this restaurant before I left home. It did not disappoint. Great friendly welcome by the owner, I had a lovely table for one in the far corner. The restaurant is small but has a great atmosphere with excellent service and absolutely beautiful food. Prices are extremely reasonable and food quality and portions excellent 👌. The mushroom fondue with truffle was so good  I wanted more. The second piano pasta rage was lovely as was the main, Florentine steak, cooked perfectly, desert was the chef's signature dish and one of the best deserts i have ever had. The local white one was lovely and to finish dinner the glass of grappa recommended by the waiter was perfect. The taste was like sultanas but so smooth and leaving you wanting more. I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone visiting Cortona. Thank you, a beautiful dining experience.

Everything about this restaurant was wonderful.  They had a few specials to add to the menu but alone the menu options were perfect.  We had 4 diners try 4 different starters and mains so with that and 2 desserts I would say we had a really good grasp on the exceptional food.  Our favorite pasta was the duck ragout (pictured).  If there was any downside I would say the desserts were very good but not overwhelmingly so.  The wine list was truly wonderful as well.  Service was fun and impeccable.

An absolutely delicious, homely style dinner. The pasta was all handmade and had great texture. The monkfish was perfectly cooked. The whole onions were sweet and delicate. Service was lovely too!

Very tasty food, mixed up the order of bringing out the food, possibly because many servers were involved.  The duck with tagliatelle reminded me of tuna casserole in texture and flavor, but it was overall good.  The steak tartare was delicious, though I couldn't taste or smell the truffles at all.  The porcini mushrooms had a much stronger flavor.  The zuccotto was one of the tallest desserts I've ever had.  It's a Tuscan with a passion fruit filling.  I asked multiple waitress what was on the inside, and they insisted it was sponge cake throughout.  They said that the inside is the same ingredients but prepared differently.  After looking up zuccotto online, I found that the inside is a semifreddo of some kind.  Still the waiter insisted it was nothing but sponge cake.  At this point, it wasn't something getting lost in translation :). I happened to walk by the chef on the way out and told him how delicious it was.  He told me it was simply a mixture of eggs, milk, sugar, and passion fruit juice.  I knew I tasted something tangy and fruity in the center and that it had a different texture from the outer sponge cake!  I would encourage the wait staff to be more knowledgeable about the menu to help educate customers.  Despite this, I thoroughly enjoyed the meal and would return.  It seemed to be a very popular restaurant and was rather busy.

After a brutal experience in Florence, this was even more of a treat.

Breathtaking. The best gnocchi with (hint) of mint, zucchini and Parmesan, that I've ever experienced. The spinach riccotta tortellini with truffles was mind blowing.

The servers were polite, professional, and accommodating with English, apologizing for their lack of English ( it was our lack of Italian that should have been apologized for).

Beautiful ambience in a medieval style setting and a building that was probably hundreds of years old.

There are no words other than "MAGNIFICO" for this place.

The best dining experience of my entire life, hands down.

5+++++++ stars.
