We ordered a 6 course tasting menu and  dishes were very playful and innovative, we enjoyed it a lot. service was also great, quite attentive and friendly. The only critique I have  is that some dishes could have been balanced a little better, the green tomato risotto was very sour (I enjoy sour foods but this was a little too much for a risotto), I wish the dishes came out a little warmer, I understand that they serve it at a temperature that can be eaten straight away but some dishes were just about warm. The tomato cracker that came with the bread tasted good but had way too much salt.The petite fours were very cute and were also great. Our waitress came with a little brush to clear the table before dessert but didn’t do a great job as there was still a pool of bread crumbs next to me (where she stood to clean up). It was my mum’s birthday and I’d written this in my reservation but they didn’t do anything for the dessert, no candle even which was a little disappointing.

Overall, I’d definitely come back, it was worth it for the price, relatively inexpensive for a tasting menu in my opinion.

Amazing cocktails and very weird hosting by the staff. We had to change 3 tables before finding one on our own. Music changed too fast and from one genre to another which of course affects the atmosphere. Very clean and Avantgarde restroom philosophy.

My favorite cocktail bar in Florence! The atmosphere is lush, tucked away into a naturalistic bar and restaurant, and both the crowd and staff are consistently stylish in tune with the ambience. You are offered complimentary welcome drinks on arrival, which are light and refreshing. The cocktail menu in addition is also unique but classic. The bartenders are friendly and creative, and there are even live DJ’s and music at times. You can be ensured a fun and elegant experience. It’s always a good night here!

One of, if not the best, bar experience I have ever had in the world. While my main focus was the bar and cocktail program, I did order some small bites with the trout tartare, and the quality of the dish was great. As were the provided accoutrements for bar patrons of roasted nuts and pickled vegetables; delicious.

But this experience is most elevated by the bartenders and cocktail program. After only briefly chatting with one of the bartenders, Chars, and discussing what I was looking for/in my time at Locale, he steered me in the right direction for my food and cocktail pairing. However, before my food came out, he offered me a half-serving of another cocktail from their menu which he felt might have been similar to what I was looking to enjoy. It was delicious, and while not exactly what I wanted, the proactive thought and attention meant more than the outcome of the drink.

Upon my food arriving, Chars quickly poured the cocktail I ordered, noting that “timing is important” with a smile. The food was great, and the drink was phenomenal, as expected with such excellent mixologists. After a couple cocktails, and a few tastings/shots with Chars as well as his fellow bartender Max, they offered me a tour of their underground level which the restaurant is built upon — dating back almost a millennium. The space downstairs was so stunning and perfectly executed, it has me planning to at some point return for a private dinner hosted in the space down below for its uniqueness and incredible history.

Thank you again to Chars and Max, as well as the host and other employees who made my experience at Locale so fantastic. What was intended to be a quick solo nightcap at a new bar/restaurant I had not previously been to, turned into a multi-hour experience full of plenty of incredible drinks and conversation with everyone who helped me at Locale. Truly a must-visit spot in Florence.
