The best meal of our life (and we’re foodies!). An absolute must visit if you like seafood. The grilled octopus with hazelnut would be my death row starter! We also had the tuna pate (delicious) to start. For main we had the fish tacos and the dry aged fish. Both delicious, the tacos were great as you made them yourself. Only downfall there was 3 of them and we were sharing between 2 - would’ve been a nice touch to add an extra taco shell at least! The focaccia and butter was delicious and the chips to round us off. Only downfall was the sticky toffee pudding which was a bit too dry and couldve had more sauce. Wouldn’t order again. Service from Richard was perfect, explained everything and was always there to top us up right on time! Wish we had a tails in London so I could go again!! Great value for the quality of the food. We paid £110 for 2 including a bottle of wine and 3 courses which compared to other places we’ve eaten at was really good. Wasn’t busy on a Saturday night which was very surprising though!

The food here is excellent: the seafood risotto and dry-ages pike-perch mains were both truly great, whereas the tuna pate starter was the letdown of the evening.

The service, however, felt rushed and impersonal: mains were pushed out almost immediately after we were done with the starters, and the commentary on the food was rushed and brief.

Had dinner here tonight.

Loved the seafood tartar, but main dish disappointed me a lot. There was a tremendous amount of cheese in the seafood risotto with no mention of cheese on menu. I could only taste cheese and no seafood. I could barely eat a quarter of the food.

My partner had the aged fish, not bad but nothing special in terms of flavours.

I’m not sure how well they treated the food in terms of intolerance as I had noted that my food needs to be gluten free, but the bread at least didn’t seem gluten free.
I have been feeling sick since the main course and throwing up not sure if it’s because of contamination or the cheese..,

Also, the lack of attention to detail was obvious. There were at least three waiters checking on us, and seemed rushed.
A lot of cutlery dropping on kitchen floor, quite loud sharp sounds and lots of traffic because of the staff.

Needs a big improvement.

Tails has been phenomenal. Firstly, it was relatively easy to find a seat on a Monday evening, but nevertheless we reserved.
The interior has a nice ambiance, being not too dark and not too luminous. Furniture is well put together, boosting neutral tones.
The restaurant forte is definitely fish, which is of high quality and very fresh.
To me, one of the best starters I’ve ever had in my life was the scallops carpaccio with coffee oil. Really delicate and totally rich in flavour. The tuna tataki with balsamic reduction and the octopus BBQ were also outstanding. I’ve eaten octopus many times, but making it interesting is hard. The paprika marinade was very distinct in flavor and yet was letting the octopus stand out. The side dish was also very delicious.
We both ordered a desert with apples and white chocolate - I wasn’t convinced on the pairing and ended up with a bitter note in my mouth. The cocktail I took -the apple smash also had a slightly high smoky thyme taste (which is not for everyone), but wasn’t too strong.
The staff was so kind (as they forgot to bring us 2 deserts), that they gifted us the other desert they had on the menu - the sticky toffee, and two digestives.
A great experience, amazing value for money and total care. It makes sense they’ve been mentioned in the Michelin Guide and

As a huge foodie my meal at TAILS was comfortably one of the best I’ve ever eaten. Outstanding service and food that was superb. Fresh and complex flavours in a great setting made this a meal I will remember for many years.
