What a great surprise!  - The restaurant is excellent, easy going atmosphere but still a very high level of quality and absolutely delicious. Rooms typically Dutch stylish where old meets modern… all in all an unexpected very positive discovery!

Unfortunately this hotel is not what it once used to be. Whereas I would have recommended this hotel 2 years ago, I myself will not go back after the treatment we got in our last visit. They completely ruined our stay and their attempts at rectifying it were absolutely insulting (offering to cover the costs of water and an apple juice and a glass of wine at dinner). The staff were really friendly, but that doesn't make up in any way for ruining our anniversary.

AmAzInG Place! Awesome food, we came for the food, we had been for the food before, and will be back for the food again. Quick before they get a Michelin Star and everybody gets to know about this gem! One small piece of feedback to note, of course, the service on top of the food is a absolute deal maker or breaker. In hour case this time round, we started off with a boring waiter, didn't seem to care less, was not friendly per say, dumped the food on table without any kind of information, just zero passion (we had 6-course-dinner). We gave the feedback, other waiter(s) helped us out most amazingly. Thank you so much team!!

When a restaurant starts off their 4 or 10 course dinner with the body of Christ handed to you in a set of prayer hands, how could you not expect a heavenly experience?

And that is exactly what we got at both the restaurant and the hotel. The dinner was fabulous and the room and the location amazing.

The food was subtle, local and surprising. The room was modern and gorgeous. The three course breakfast was like the dinner and absolutet treat—like “-angels pissing on your tongue” as the Dutch expression goes.

Now expect to pay a costly ticket into heaven, but one that is well worth it.

There’s two small points to note, I was surprised the dinner does not come with a wine pairing even-though they do have a good sommelier. A bit of a sin to let that slide. Second, the music, in a monastery type of setting you expect perhaps more St John and less John Legend.

Music can be such a tone setter for a place that should have Michelin start ambitions, and soft jazz while surrounded by bricks from the 1400’s just seems out of tone.

If you’re comfortable service the body of Christ pick some music to match that vibe. That being said, Zutphen in general and this hotel in general are a slice of heaven not to be missed

First we couldn't enter the building; seems that the second door had to close first and employee seemed unaware of this safety issue so we stood outside for quite some time. We ordered coffee but were dissapointed that the hotel had no possible cakes or pastries to go with the coffee at that time of the late morning nor a small cookie like in most places. Coffee was very delicious so that helped turn our mood around.
