The place is quite old and not welcoming as ambiance. We were asked to sit next to toilet downstairs next to an old curtain, was quite not nice. Thought the remaining tables are booked but they were all empty until we leave. The waiter kept speaking Dutch many times also after seeing we do not speak Dutch.

The wine selection is OK. Also the food menu. We have eaten quite different pieces from the menu, but none of them made me feel like I want to come back. I have been to many high end restaurants, this is not one of them.

I know, you’re probably tired of all the food pictures by now, but this was simply an unforgettable experience. Everything was crafted from the finest ingredients and prepared with such simplicity – oysters topped with frozen cream and frozen vinegar 🤯, salt-baked beets with mustard ice cream 💥, and grilled langoustine with lavender beurre blanc and argan oil ❤️.

Paired with a bone-dry, zero-dosage, barrel-aged champagne, beautifully balanced with 50% reserve wine 🥂.

This has to be my favorite restaurant in Amsterdam – and yes, I’ll definitely be back 🤩

Had an amazing lunch (5 courses). Wonderful play on taste and textures. Was glad to find some acidity in some of the dishes to cut with the fat. We still had to drive, so I cannot speak about the wine list (although I did see there were very few by the glass). Fortunately they did have an alcohol free wine.
The portions of our set 5-course menu were rich and delicious. The prices were very very reasonable and I almost felt bad that we didn’t order any wine as their non-alcoholic menu was limited.
All in all a lovely experience.

Perhaps the worst service I’ve had in Amsterdam in the past 2 years. Definitely not Michelin worthy and definitely not worth visiting. I must mention the chefs- likely the only reason this place still sees guests as it’s not due to the disrespectful servers.

Founded by same 2 chef of Bistro De Le Mer but difference of heaven and earth. Probably exotic meat (hare and mallard) are not really up our alley for dinner
