We booked 3 nights at this hotel in Norway, but unfortunately, we made a mistake with the dates. Once we realized the error, we quickly contacted the hotel to explain the situation and offered to pay a penalty for our mistake. Additionally, we were willing to make a new reservation for the correct dates and pay for it. Despite this, the hotel showed no flexibility or understanding. Not only did they refuse to move our reservation, but they also charged us €425, even though we didn’t spend a single night there. For a hotel that claims to offer quality service, this shows a total lack of consideration for their customers. We do not recommend this hotel due to its lack of commercial sense and customer care.

We arrived at 15.30 in the afternoon on a gloriously beautiful day in Bergen.

We were warmly welcomed by the reception staff and it took just a few minutes to check in and obtain our room keys.

The Hotel is most definitely a  world class 4 star hotel with all the amenities and service that you would expect from such a quality standard.

The room was well appointed, spacious, quite and had an electric kettle,  electric iron and ironing board, a mini refrigerator, wide screen TV, free Wi-Fi and, a small safe.

The room was spotlessly clean, well aired and room temperature just fine.

The windows could be opened too for added ventilation if required.

The curtains were heavy drapes that kept the light out and were well fitted.

The bed was very comfortable with high quality bedding and a firm mattresses topper. The pillows were firm as well and a good size as, many hotels in Norway provide half size pillows!

There is an ice maker on each floor as well, a capsule coffee machine (or tea) in the lobby area, free to guests.

The hotel is conveniently located near to the harbor as well as a an historical fortress with parkland located just 40 meters from the hotel.

Our room rate included a substantial breakfast buffet served from 7am until 10am

A selection of great tasting international dishes, smoked salmon too and of course, fresh  pastries, assortment of freshly baked bread, bread rolls, croissants,  fresh fruit etc.

This is one of the best 4 star hotels I have ever stayed in during my many years international travel.

A big YES, I highly recommend you stay at this hotel as it ticks all the boxes for any discerning traveler old or young!

When we checked in the front desk told us that our luggage was not here(we had it shipped from Oslo as part of the Norway in a nutshell) he was not interested at all with helping us find it. Oh by the way..the luggage was indeed here he just didn't care to look for it. Probably my worst experience in checking into a hotel ever! But besides that it's a nice place and when I did go back to the front desk to ask for dinner recommendations they were very helpful. I made sure not to ask the guy that checked us in.

We chose this hotel for 3 reasons: location, parking, and the breakfast buffet. Unfortunately I’d only recommend it for the location. Rooms were fine & clean but when we arrived, we found their parking was unavailable for basically the month of June. Would’ve been nice to know in advance…so we had to find a garage down the road that cost us a fortune for 2 nights. The buffet was plentiful, but pretty basic. Cold eggs, coffee from a machine, a bit underwhelming compared to the other breakfasts we enjoyed in Norway. Again, could recommend for the good location & kind staff but everything else was average

Great experience. The service is outstanding. The standard rooms are just comfortable and fuctional, not too spacy. Very good matresses. Great breakfast.
