We had such a great time at Hool—the food is amazing. We got both the vegetarian and meat tasting menu (welcome + 7 moments for vegetarian, welcome + 9 moments for the meat based one). The service was impeccable, the food was phenomenal, an absolute gastronomic experience. The foods were paired so well, the flavor was so concentrated and immense, and the surrounding was picturesque. We cannot say enough good things about our experience and food. We got a bottle of top notch paired wine but they also have a tasting menu of paired wines for those interested.

Hool is excellent. The best food I have had in Portugal since I moved here 8 months ago. It’s also in a historical area of Guimaraes. I enjoyed seeing the little kids trying to catch the pigeons. I wish I had that much energy.

I went for the seafood options. They were all great, but the Tuna Starter was insanely good. The chef also treated me to some small bites to try along the way, but at this price point, that’s not unexpected.

I will be going back.

The ambience is lovely as we sat across the crowded cafes looking at the architecture. The 4 stars go towards the desserts! Torta de Guimaraes with Lavender ice cream & Carrot cake with Whiskey ice cream are 2 desserts i highly recommend!
