We went to Âmago in Lisbon this past Sunday 7/7/24. There were 10 courses aka moments. We did the wine pairing as well which was 7 different wines. The vibes were amazing, super clean and industrialist decor. No paper menu so I can’t remember all the flavors but I have added what I can remember to the photo descriptions.
It was a really nice, intimate evening. I enjoyed getting to know new people and having delicious food at the same time. The couple who run the restaurant are adorable and great entertainers. My solitary complaint is that the dessert courses tasted like dessert for people who don’t like dessert. Perhaps I’m alone in this, but I love and want a sweet dessert. Besides, I highly recommend. I would love to come back in a different season to try a new menu.

I booked in advance after seeing recommendations on Reddit. I wasn’t sure what to expect from the experience but I was happily surprised. It was a shared to table of 9 people in total, but most of the others were couples/family which was good for conversation.

The food was delicious and on par with going to a Michelin star restaurant without all the extra fluff. It was cozy and intimate with the food planing prepared right next to  us.

They had a really large selection of wines and a few non alcoholic kombucha choices too. There is a dedicated wine pairing but if not something more adhoc could be suggested by chef.

What really stood out to me was how passionate they were about the food and it really seemed like they found a job they love doing.

Wow.

I'm normally skeptical of fine dining, and would rather prefer a $10 burrito. My wife dragged me here, and I'm so glad she did. Of all the fine dining places she's taken us to, this is by far the best. The small intimate setting, the hospitality and service, and the atmosphere were all phenomenal. The food was excellent, and I felt thoroughly full afterwards.

Incredible 10 course meal with a focus on Portuguese flavors and fresh produce. Owned by a couple who only seats 10 people per night and develops a menu based on their experiences. When I went, Marta and Andre had recently travelled to Japan so put together a menu including takes on the 7/11 egg salad Sandwhich and flavors like yuzu, sake, and matcha. Definitely not an experience to be missed for anybody who loves food.
