The location of this hotel cannot be beat. Walking distance to everything you want to see on a visit to Porto. We had a 5-star experience! The staff was incredibly hospitable. Concierge was very helpful with recommendations. Cleaning service was thorough. The hotel is beautiful. We booked a standard room and received an upgrade (which gave us a view of the terrace rather than the busy street) - the room was a bit small but otherwise nice.

The worst stay we’ve had at any “Five” star hotel, and we travel internationally a lot.

We just finished a five-night stay here, and it was extremely disappointing. Right from check-in, it was clear this place is not up to five-star standards. The front desk staff were consistently rude and unhelpful, making us feel unwelcome. We received no information about the hotel or amenities, and as first-time visitors to Porto, this was frustrating.

The breakfast experience was also poor. Half-open bottles of water from previous guests were left on the tables, and it took over ten minutes to get coffee. The staff seemed scarce, and you had to chase them down for anything.

The room itself felt cramped.  The bathroom was outdated, with just a single sink vanity and no separate shower. The bathrobes were thin and worn out.

The hotel seems more focused on catering to large tour groups, which meant the staff were used to a group service approach, not the personalized attention you’d expect at a five-star hotel. This became clear as we watched large groups come through every other day, receiving more attention than individual guests.

My husband spoke to the front desk manager on day four, and although she listened, her response was inadequate. She offered us a free drink, which never arrived, and even suggested we consider removing our review—something we found quite inappropriate.

The only positive aspects were the lovely interiors, the accommodating valet staff, and the housekeeping. However, these don’t make up for the overall poor experience.

We’ve since checked into a four-star hotel in Spain, and it’s already better in every way, reinforcing our belief that Hospes Infante is not a true five-star hotel. At best, it’s a mediocre four-star.

I stayed here recently for three nights with my partner. The staff are very accommodating, and the rooms are wonderful.

One small issue we found was noise during the night. Our room faced the street behind the hotel, where there were parties until about 6am. This could be an issue for light sleepers.

Regardless, next time we visit Porto we’ll be going back here. Great hotel!

We visited this hotel for our honeymoon. It has an antique interior, an elevator, and a wonderful people who always stand by our door. Among them, joao is so friendly. He even guided us on how to get to the football stadium, recommended steak restaurants, and guided us through the great places to decorate our last day. Last destination. joa~o!!!!__

We have stayed all over the world I. Very nice hotels and without a doubt this place is at the top of the list for us as being one if not the best experience. We were greeted with smiles and warm welcomes everytime an employee saw us. The room attendants were so sweet and nice. We had turned down service the coffee pot was refilled and restocked every morning. The experience was just amazing. Can’t wait to come back. Also the hotel is old but you wouldn’t know it from the way it’s taken care of.
