If you have the chance, please eat here! We were in disbelief the whole meal at how amazing the flavors were. The staff were so nice and it was fun to say hi to the chef before eating. The portions are generous so pace yourself. Well priced for a Michelin star. Also - I have celiac and the kitchen made it easy for me to enjoy my meal. Amazing experience and our best meal by far on our Basque/Asturias/Rioja trip!

Casa Gerardo is definitely, by far, my favourite restaurant in Asturias. The cuisine is always consistent, with great product and flavours. Marcos is able to create new dishes but having the tradition always in mind.
Dani is on charge of service, with great wine knowledge and always attentive to any detail.
Rice pudding not to be missed, best I’ve ever had (and probably different to any other rice pudding you might have had). Fish always cooked perfectly and quite unique Fabada (Asturias traditional dish) is a must

It’s in a beautiful location. I generally don’t care for tasting menus and prefer to create my own menu but we felt that we were pushed to order more food here, for instance a server recommended a 1.5x portion on our fish and lobster when a regular portion would have been fine; we are not big eaters. And especially disappointing given that those two dishes were by far the weakest.

The fabada is indeed very good and the thing to get here. Tomato salad with anchovies and peppers very good. The lobster salpicón was a huge letdown, the lobster overcooked and bland, tasting only of onions. At 100€ for a 1.5x portion I expected a much more pleasurable dish, like the salpicón we had several nights before at Alabaster, which was truly great.
The worst part of the meal was the hake. It simply was not good, I could smell it as soon as it was set down. It was nicely cooked but it was not fresh, and on top of that I was served a tail piece. Again we had just eaten top quality hake at Alabaster which was fresh in my mind and I’ve eaten plenty of excellent hake throughout Spain. Perhaps it’s because we’re tourists, I don’t know but this fish should have never been served. I didn’t return it and didn’t want to complain or make a scene in a restaurant clearly geared towards locals.

I thought desserts were underwhelming including the famous rice pudding. We ate a better rendition at Real Balneario and I’ve had much better all over France, but that’s probably just a matter of taste. Chocolate dessert was monotone with not much variation in flavors or textures, some contrasts would have been nice.

Regardless of these faults service was prompt and professional and it’s worth a visit for the fabada, but it was a very expensive lunch to leave so disappointed.

This restaurant is outstanding!!! There is nothing bad! It is a very good and sophisticated restaurant, without losing the homemade food flavours! The fabada is a must try! The view is amazing, the staff is really atentive and caring! Just Loved it!

Delicious food and fantastic service. The 1882 menu never disappoints. As well as the usual classics (croqueta de compongo, fabada de Prendes and the astonishing crema de arroz con leche requemada), it’s really worth mentioning the cigalas, cochinillo and col. Absolutely superb mixture of flavours. Definitely worth a detour if you are in Asturias.
