This morning we did a “free excursion” : select somewhere you would like to go, get up early and be there before everybody else. Be back home before the majority of the people wake up. We selected Cala Mitjana. We were not the very first people on the beach. But we were there early 😃. From a distance the water and beach look very beautiful.  But to be honest … the closer you get, the less beautiful it is. The beach is pretty small and a large portion is covered in weed. It smells bad. And there are many many flies. I would not recommend it for a day swimming. There are nicer beaches in the area. The surrounding is beautiful though …

30-minute hike to get there. The water was full of a green gooey substance that I assume was caused by the rain of the previous day. It looked like some boat fuel residue

You park just at main highway
Then a mandatory walk 25 mins through gorgeous Pine forest .. watch the mosquitos in the forest

Great place in the evening. Very beautiful bay and big, in summer maybe also full. My photos are from mid november and we were the only ones. It’s a longer walk through the forest but also really nice.

Cala Mutjana is a nice area in menorca Spain. We parked at a parking lot and walked to the beach. The walk to the beach felt more like a hike but very nice path way. The path was natural rocks and dirt with beautiful views of the Mediterranean Sea along the way. The hike was not too difficult we did it with my 2 year old niece but went slow and took our time. The beach here was a decent size not too big but wasn’t too small either. The beach has nice soft white sand and wasn’t too busy. The water of the Mediterranean Sea here is a beautiful turquoise blue and clean.
