Having read other excellent reviews, we had to try this restaurant.
We were more than delighted with our visit for a dinner celebrating a special birthday.
We opted for the shorter set menu.
It was adjusted to various dietry requirements, perfectly.
Each dish delicious and an exquisite fusion.
The service was second to none with careful attention to every detail.
All dishes were explained in detail of origin, special ingredients and how best to enjoy.
Special attention by Chef Borja at every table.
Definitely recommend a try.

Let's start with the obvious: the food is very good and innovative. Perhaps not yet quite up there with the Michelin standard of the neighbouring Poemas, but very close. Also they have a green Michelin star for producing a lot if not most of the ingredients at their own farm in Tejeda.

The wine package was also enjoyable, with Canarian wines. For the longer menu, there was enough wine and the amount food was just right.

The downside was amateurish and hurried service, excluding the owner who was extremely friendly and had time to answer questions about the food and everything.

It's just that if you have an English menu, you serve in English and many of the patrons speak English, it would be good to at least learn words like "wine pairing", "wine package" and "the cheque" or "the bill". Also when asking for drinks, let the customer finish their sentence before running away and bringing two glasses when they would have ordered just one.

Anyway, very enjoyable dinner, but minus one star for the hassle. Maybe we caught them on an off night.

My colleague and I were hotel guests and excited to sample a Michelin star restaurant. The empty tables on arrival on Saturday night should have been a red flag to us.
We went ahead anyway with the full tasting menu and wine pairing.
Unfortunately the creations however well presented and introduced by our waiter were consistently underwhelming. We persevered hoping for something to excite and impress but  each taste was as uninspiring as the last. The wines were mostly good in themselves but pairing wine with such minimal flavours doesn’t really make sense.
At the end we explained to the waiter that we were so underwhelmed by the whole experience that we were struggling to understand the whole concept and justification for the large bill.
We waited to discuss perhaps with a manager or chef but were left unattended. Eventually we enquired what was happening and were told to take it up with the hotel reception.

The hotel reception advised us that someone would contact us to discuss before next day check out but no one did.
On check out the whole meal bill was added to my total and there was no one available to discuss our complaint. I asked the reception to remove the charge and left my contact details so that I might get to discuss with the restaurant management. I was uncomfortable about not paying but equally unimpressed by the whole experience.

Went for a special lunch and had the longer tasting menu, Lo Más Profindo de Tejeda. Chef Borja Marrero is on his way to a Michelin star, the way he brings his passion for Canarian food and wine to the table. The food was different from any tasting menu we have had before and the wines (armonía) were outstanding. We especially liked the smoky aubergine with hollandaise, the langoustine with meaty onion sauce, and the “despiece” of the Canarian sheep. We loved the chef’s description of the tour we were taking and his ties to his native Tejeda.

Amazing experience. Chef was there to serve and explain the food. We had the 9 course menu and each course was unique and very tasty. A little pricey.
