We were on a very long cruise going from Venice to Portugal on NCL last year.  One major stop was Barcelona.  We have been to Barcelona several times so we knew what we wanted to see on one day. One of our favorite plazas is Plaza Reial. These are restaurants, drinks and beautiful buildings and of course the fountain and Gaudi lights.  A great place to eat and watch the beautiful people.

At first we were confused what the Gaudi design was in this plaza, but the answer was in the translation: modernist streetlamps! Not only did his designs beautify the city with buildings, but with livability elements like street lighting.

Beautiful place to relax from hustle bustle of city.
Must stop for a coffee or light music on a trip to GOTHAM QUARTERS or when commuting from La Rambla to Gotham Quarters or to  Ciutadella park.

Recommendation:
It a must one day walking trip to cover entire La Rambla Street and to gothic quarters, this either can be done if traveling started from placa de catalunya or from south i.e beach side of La Rambla.
Once done visit of street get to the gothic area and do mark the prominent land marks to cover. This entire trip will take around 3-4 hrs.

Very beautiful spot to have and espresso and people watch. Less crowded than the rambla.
