A truly unforgettable experience. The food was out of this world, the service was executed flawlessly. The atmosphere was enchanting and the tour at the start really set the tone for the entire evening. Utter perfection.

Only rating the restaurant (not the hotel), which now holds 3 Michelin stars (2024), at the time of my visit it was 2. One of the best gastronomic experiences in my life: spotless and personalized service (I got a private visit to their beautiful wine cellar and saw their “rescued” bottle of 1806 D’Yquem), amazing food, unusual presentations, and explosion of flavours in every dish. Excellent value for money.

The restaurant is a unique experience, so fabulous and so precise.  Now we know what is a 3-Star place, worth it all.  The Hotel is so contemporary and trendy, juxtaposed in a medieval setting of one of the city squares surrounded by ancient stone and harsh sun.  The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable about the region, enjoying Caceres by walking through is so fun, the hotel is so restful, until the evening dinners, which are a spectacle.  Recommend to anyone who loves food and exploring an ancient city in luxury.

What a lunch! Our very first 3 Michelin Star experience at this superb restaurant in ancient Cáceres created by Spanish Grand Chef, Toño Perez.

Atrio is located in the heart of the old town of Cáceres, in a newish building, but which blends in with the old buildings around it. Once inside nothing is ancient: the décor is modern and from the moment you enter, the service is impeccable. We started with a tour of their amazing wine cellar containing some very aged wines - we saw one from 1860! The collection is so vast it is printed in an inch thick book, from which you have to choose. Or you can choose the Sommelier's pairing, as we did.

The tasting menu was called "Iberian Pork Menu" and was 23 courses.

Each course was exquisitely presented, and all very different. The presentation, textures and tastes were absolutely superb. Each course was a mini work of art. The service, of course, was impeccable. The wine choices were also excellent and beautifully matched to the food.

Chef Perez made several visits to the table to see that everything was OK.

What an amazing experience!

This is what we were served:

- Black olives tapenade, linseed and amaranth
- Potatoes with cheese and dill
- Paste choux dough, with smoked bacon and oregano
- Tuna belly with red lard and caviar
- Crunchy of tapioca, salmon emulsion and crispy pork
- Shrimps marinated with garlic and chorizo
- Ham, mayonnaise and tomato
- Salchichon, black pepper emulsion and crispy wheat
- Pork pate, with mustard, banana and pickles
- Tartar of loin "doblao"
- Taro pot sticker, pork lard and cumin Porco tonnato with fried capers and black pepper
- Ink brioche, with squid and pork's ear stew
- Pork rinds, scallops and spring onion sauce
- Pork jowl pudding with caviar
- Glazed lobster with pork sauce, green curry and lemongrass
- Pork cheek, crawfish and creamy chicken broth
- Pork prey at low temperature with beetroot salad
- Torta del Casar, quince, Matcha tea and olive oil biscuit
- Yuzu ganache, yogur, fennel and pork rinds
- Iberian chocolate, with coffee and aged ham
- The cherry, which is not a cherry
- Petit fours
