Located on the coast, almost over the water, with views of nearby islands expect great fish and seafood. We were there too early for the barbeque which deals with meat.
The menu is limited, often a good sign of a restaurant doing things really well. There's list of about half a dozen dishes. Majoring on prawns and slamonids. The best selling dish is  Laden a box for two, which we had, containing hot smoked trout, smoked prawns, potato salad, skagenrora -prawns in mayonnaise -done in a traditional Swedish style, two thick pieces of local bread fried in very good butter, aoli, lemon slices and some tomatoes. All the smoking is done onsite, just wonderful.
The front of house team were a joy to see in action and clearly enjoyed working there.
The "shack" is a former boat house with a corner bar and bags of atmosphere.
Some have remarked on the cost. We didn't think it expensive, considering the quality of ingredients and work by the kitchen team. Well worth the money. We also saw some of the largest helpings of skagenrora on toast ever.
A cycle ride was well rewarded.

The terrace is super nice and the service was friendly. The food tasted good, but quite pricey (275 crowns for a toast).

Great location on the water's edge, simple but excellent food and great atmosphere. A bit expensive but definitely worth visiting after a long hike.

Take the train to Västerhaninge and then the ferry från Årsta brygga
Bicycle  from Utö (possibile to rent there)
Stop anywhere
along the way and experience to be alone on a beach.
Arriving at this beautiful and pittoresk restaurant, Båtshaket offering, inhouse
smoked rainbow salmon and shrimps, of your dreams.
The staff is super service minded and professional.
Then you can take the boat to continué to islands more south or return to Stockholm via Nynäshamn.

you can also go back and Forth from Nynäshamn and rent Bikes at Båtshaket.

Very nice lunch place at the end of the road on Ålö, run by Jim & Jacob (during 2021 at least). Great atmosphere and friendly staff, very nice views of the archipelago. Would definitely come back for a cocktail without the kids!:)
