I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of Le Café Suisse tested in May 2024. There were some excellent dishes but the overall feel from our table is that the food varied irregularly between good and very good at times. Considering the remote location, I feel like the price tag is conducive to a slightly unfavorable value for money.

Dinner back in winter 2023. First time but definitely not last time. We had a wonderful dinner. The restaurant is exciting the moment you step on. Decoration changes every so often with the theme the Chef decides on.
We were seated upstairs. Service was fantastic and the food presentation was brilliant and fun. The flavors of the food were excellent. It was a memorable evening and we cannot wait to return

Great food and creative presentations. Wine pairing was excellent and mostly focused on local viniards. Would not be surprised to see them receive a second star soon.

Lovely ambiance and greeting at the door. Small restaurant with tables spaced nicely. We ordered the surprise menu and I asked for vegetarian but was asked if I could eat some fish. Every dish became fish, except for the amuse bouche! We first were given some parcels with a saucisse filling... even me. Later when I could get the waiter's attention, I asked if there was a vegetarian option and he took the meat one and swapped it. Like everyone has said portions are small but everything is delicious. The wine tastings did not match the food necessarily and I did not taste any that I would drink again. I received a merlot (tasted very much of alcohol with not much lingering taste) with the fish main course. My husband had to ask for cutlery. Water was agressively poured throughout. The cheese selection was extensive but some harder cheeses were perhaps too hard/old. Desert was nice. Perhaps if we had eaten ala carte, we might have been happier. Also, it was just too much fish for me (who usually doesn't even eat fish), there was no variété. The normal surprise menu had a better variety of fish and meat. The bill was over 600chf for a pleasant if not perfect evening.
