My wife and I stayed at the Baur au Lac in late August. We loved every minute of our time there. The hotel is beautiful and full of fantastic history. Our room with a balcony (we had a junior suite) was incredibly furnished, quiet, and comfortable. I spent a lot of time on the balcony, too. The included breakfast was great! There were so many options. The dinner at the outdoor restaurant provided not only great food but an incredible atmosphere.

But what stood out for us was the customer service.  Khalid and Roberto from the concierge desk helped plan our days there - and did a great job.  Julia at the front desk welcomed us each time we walked by - even suggested a local place for lunch - which was so good; every staff member was kind and thoughtful.   We can't wait to go back!

Prime location, brand new historical building with classic architecture and interiors. Convenient and perfectly furnished rooms and suites. Very good food and restaurants. Top level staff and service. Pleasure to stay

Thanking this wonderful hotel and its staff for creating such a memorable stay for us for our honeymoon! Not only did they upgrade our room for the occasion but we also received a delicious cake and champagne on our first night! The breakfast was fantastic and the hotel amenities were perfect. The staff were welcoming and kind! We hope to return again to Zürich and stay at this lovely hotel ❤️

My stay was made very unpleasant due to the following issues:

Lakeside Junior Suite Reservation: I specifically confirmed my reservation for a Lakeside Junior Suite to enjoy the beautiful views as presented on your website and as discussed at the time of booking. The reality is that my room had a distant view of the lake and what there was of it to see was compromised due to ongoing construction, which obstructed the view. This is unacceptable.

Construction Noise: The noise from the construction was on-going making it difficult to relax or work. This is unacceptable and you should notify guests in advance accordingly.

Bathroom Noise: I was also disturbed by noise from the bathroom on the floor above. Why?

Inability to Enjoy the Terrace: The terrace, which I had hoped to use as a peaceful retreat, was unusable due to workers frequently being at the window. This prevented me from enjoying my time in the fresh air. This is unacceptable and you should notify guests in advance accordingly.

Tram Noise: Additionally, the noise from the nearby tram line added to the overall disruption, creating an environment that was anything but restful. You cannot be held responsible for the city’s tram noise, but again, you should inform guests to manage expectations.

Despite the team’s apologies regarding my concerns, it does not change the fact that I did not have a restful experience during my stay. As I was in Zurich for a brief business trip, I had hoped to unwind and enjoy my junior lakeside suite. The fact remains, I paid for facilities I did not receive.

Had I not been recovering from a previous busy trip; I would have checked out of the hotel. I value premium experiences, and I must express my discontent with this yours which was not premium, especially given your luxury positioning of the hotel on your marketing materials.

I will not recommend this hotel and nor will stay again in future

We hosted our birthday dinner and aperitif at Baur au Lac, and the experience was fantastic. Both the rooftop venue and the salon were exceptional, the food was delicious, and the service was outstanding. Most importantly, I want to extend my deepest thanks to Stephanie for the extraordinary job she did organizing the event. She truly is the heart and soul of the team. I 100% recommend her and the venue!
