Highly recommended Chefs menu and beautiful location for couples, families and friends. Well enjoyed tasting menu and hard to choice a favourite. Staff were friendly and all knowledgeable on all menu items. wine is reasonably priced. Great garden to walk around and explore vegetable garden.

We had not been to the Pony for many years, in fact it was called the Pony and Trap back then. We enjoyed our evening and the meal was excellent. The staff were very helpful, with a lot of knowledge about the food and the local area. We walked through the gardens as the sun went down.

To whom this may concern

First off I would like to thank you for a great roast. 29/12/24 (my birthday meal).

Unfortunately on arrival half an hour early, my mum and her partner were refused a drink and an offer to be seated at the bar while they waited. as they arrived half an hour early prior to our booking at 3.30pm They felt extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome, they were even told to sit and wait in their car! We understand you are a small venue but this was just 2 people!
As you can imagine when I arrived they were upset about this and it caused an awkward situation. This ruined the experience for us all and I have left feeling very disappointed, and on my birthday may I add once more.
We will not be coming back and I will not recommend this place for any type of event to my friends. We live in the area and feel completely let down by you. Our bill was over £400 including service charge which quite frankly you do not deserve. I will copy and paste this to your website.
I recommend you make changes in order for someone else in the future to not feel so let down by you as we did.

We had a lovely meal here, arrived early and had a few cocktails which we enjoyed in the beautiful quiet garden with nice views, our food was fantastic and the wine complemented it well. Finished it off with a few more delicious cocktails including probably the best espresso martini I’ve had and a lovely pudding with a candle in it to mark my wife’s birthday. The service was very warm and friendly and I thought that £100 per head for a table of 5, although a pricey Wednesday night meal, was very reasonably considering the standard. They also do a more reasonably priced ‘pub food menu’ which I thought was a nice touch in a place of this quality. Overall highly recommend.
