I had the best service here, in years, including high dining visits.

I got attended by 3 of the staff, not the usual single server and they worked as a team, as clockwork. I got my beer served in seconds. I hardly finished talking to the person helping me to choose at the bar, and the drink just showed up served by a colleague. This high sped flow repeated with my main and dessert. It was honestly a joy seeing them handing everything with such ease. When I needed something, all I needed was one look at one of them and they came. Incredible staff.

I also liked some details I observed about laying things out in advance. The closest drink menu board to the bar was low and alcohol free beers, which I have never seen before even displayed, let alone closest to the bar. Every table had tap water, glasses, salt and pepper. My basic needs were anticipated without asking already. The longer I stayed the more details I fell in love with.

The smoked haddock chowder was very tasty and rich. The place was roomy but cozy at the same time.

I will certainly return. The scotch egg from the next table is inviting me back too ;)

We booked a table here for 12:30 to pop in for a work lunch. We were immediately welcomed and shown to our table. Service was excellent and the fish and chips were delicious. Just the right size for lunch. With a soft drink and a tip it was £20 per person. A lovely traditional looking pub which is centuries old. Great views and location at the water if Leith, Edinburgh.

The starters were quite small in portion. The standout dish was the avocado salad with crab, which was delightful. However, the main courses were disappointing. The steak we requested to be cooked medium came out well done, and the salmon lacked flavour. On a positive note, there was a good selection of wines. For dessert, we had a chocolate mousse, which was enjoyable. Great service!

Really cool pub in my favorite neighborhood in Edinburgh. Hard to miss as it’s on a busy intersection of riverfront and bridge but it’s a cozy spot to stop for a pint and a snack. I decided to have a flat white and sticky toffee pudding and they were great! A couple cask ale handles and a good looking menu although on the pricier side.

Fantastic place. We had mussels, steak and the kids had burgers. All food was good. It was a very cosy place and a sweet waitress.

Vilket varmt välkomnande vi hade en stormig dag i oktober. Vi möttes med vänlighet från en härlig kille som inledde oss från regnet. Han tog oss till bordet vid brasan och jag såldes. Vi åt en härlig fiskmåltid och satt och spelade kort vid den värmande brasan under större delen av eftermiddagen! Lätt att hitta eftersom stadsbussen släppte av oss utanför! 5 * kundservice & 5 * mat. Detta var höjdpunkten på min Edinburgh resa. Inget slår ett varmt välkomnande. Tack så mycket.

Vi hade bokat att gå för söndag lunch. Vi möttes av framsidan av huset personal som var mycket vänliga och tillmötesgående. Söndagens lunchmeny är inte lika omfattande som a la carte men vi fann alla att det fanns mycket att välja mellan. Maten var utmärkt, med skaldjur förrätter är särskilt bra. Allt som allt ett mycket trevligt sätt att tillbringa en söndag lunchtid. Rekommenderas starkt.

Min fru och jag har verkligen haft vårt besök här efter att ha rekommenderats det av en familjemedlem som är mycket i fine dining. Servicen var välkomnande, vänlig och uppmärksam utan att känna att det var ”på”. Vi båda tyckte att valet av mat var riktigt varierad och våra måltider var fantastiska. Vi skulle definitivt vilja återvända igen. Min enda negativa kommentar skulle vara och förhoppningsvis är till nytta för någon är när det gäller tillgänglighet. Min fru är rullstolsburen och så jag frågade om detta innan du bokar. Jag fick höra att det var tillgängligt men att det inte fanns en tillgänglig toalett. Min fru var nöjd med detta och gör vi bokat. Restaurangen är inte riktigt tillgänglig när det gäller funktionshinder eftersom det finns ett trappsteg inuti ca 5” hög och på grund av dörrarna är ingången smal. Detta accepterar jag med tanke på byggnadens ålder som går tillbaka över 600 år. Vi lyckades (med hjälp av personal som var mycket förstående och hjälpsamma) eftersom detta inte är ovanligt för oss men när en plats är upptagen min fru känns besvärligt men vi hanterar detta. Utmärkt auld pub på stranden av The Water of Leith. IT går tillbaka till 1400-talet. Bra, vänlig personal med härlig mat och dryck att njuta av.

Stannade till för en oplanerad lunch. Servrarna var underbara och det fanns massor av glutenfria alternativ. Vi hade båda skaldjursskålen som var en mängd olika skaldjur i en thailändsk buljong. Det var jättegott. Pilgrimsmusslorna kokades mycket väl och allt var superfräscht. Tallrikarna var dyra men kvaliteten på maten gjorde det värt det. En sak jag skulle vilja ändra på är att den icke glutenfria varianten serverades med knaprigt bröd medan gf-versionen hade vanligt skivat bröd. Rätten skulle vara bättre med crusty rullar. Det finns massor av gf alternativ som kan hållas i frysen tills det behövs och det skulle bara göra upplevelsen ganska perfekt.

Bra mat i en udda gammal byggnad som går tillbaka till 14 thC. Maten är en blandning av traditionellt och modernt, och mycket god. Personalen var så vänlig och smiley - det gör en sådan skillnad! Ganska liten inuti, så bäst att boka på helger eller semestertider som det är mycket populärt! Vi gillade det så mycket, vi besökte två gånger under vår korta vistelse i Edinburgh!

Tre av oss åt en utmärkt middag här igår kväll. Vi har varit här förut, men inte på flera år - fortfarande en trevlig atmosfär; inget för mycket förändrats. Enastående rätter: utsökt veggie haggis förrätt och lax special. Ganska bra värde. Bra service. Rekommenderas.

Första gången du besöker som en vän hade bokat en grupp av oss här för lunch. Vilken fröjd! Mycket vänlig och uppmärksam service, utsökt mat och en underbar Timothy Taylor ale för mig - för många att säga - och ett perfekt Rose vin för damerna. Fisken med haggis och bacon gick ner så bra till lunch att min vän sedan åt den senare eftersom vi hamnade här resten av dagen eftersom det var soligt och varmt. Vi kommer definitivt att vara tillbaka när nästa i Edinburgh.

Stoppade in för en tidig kvällsmat efter en lång resdag. Personalen, särskilt Caroline, kunde inte ha varit mer vänlig och hjälpsam. Vi slappnade av vid ett soligt bord med utsikt över liv och rörelse i Shore. Vi njöt av fish ’n chips och ångkokta musslor. Fisken var lätt och perfekt tillagad. Musslorna var rikliga, möra och kryddade lätt. Öl och Sauvignon blanc var utmärkt. Kommer definitivt tillbaka när vi är i området igen. Bara en glad, avkopplande plats för en väl - tillagad måltid!

Jag och min sambo lämnade den lite sent på söndagskvällen och bestämde oss för att ge oss ut på en söndagsstek. Kings wark var fullbräddad men herrarna som jag tror var barchefen kunde inte ha varit mer uppmärksamma. Han hittade oss ett bord undangömt i hörnet men en annan comfier bord var snart tillgänglig så han erbjöd oss det som vi var verkligen tacksamma för. Den extra touchen var när de började få slut på en viss ros min partner drack, han erbjöd sig att lagra resten av flaskan för henne, vilket var verkligen uppskattat och super omtänksamt. Vi kommer båda från en sälj/kundtjänst tillbaka och för att vara ärlig så var det länge sedan vi fick en sådan tjänst. Tack igen för din gästfrihet och varmt välkommen. Jag och min man stannade till i denna lilla pärla för lunch på vår bröllopsdag. Helt utsökt mat med härlig personal för att slutföra upplevelsen. Platsens historia är fantastisk att läsa om också. Konkurrenskraftigt prissatt och garanterat sublim mat. Vi kommer tillbaka för middag en kväll. Tack för upplevelsen. Jag vill också påpeka att servitrisen var lysande. Kunde inte klandra vår erfarenhet - 20 / 10 ! !

Åkte söndag lunch med min son och hans partner och det var utmärkt men lite bullrigt. Det förringade inte den fantastiska personalen och maten och servicen. Skulle definitivt rekommendera men boka bord i förväg för att vara säker på att du kan äta där.

Vi hade en bra lördag lunch på denna plats. Servicen var förstklassig från all personal särskilt Ian. Maten var fantastisk när det gäller kvalitet och volym. Delade ett whiskeyägg som var toppen.

Bra matställe på plats, var varm och mysig. Personalen är super trevlig och maten var riktigt bra. Helt rekommendera platsen
