The food is great, especially the Haggis Parcels, and the steak is really tender. The sauces are a bit on the salty side, but if you don’t use too much, it’s fine. However, the atmosphere is quite noisy. People are talking loudly, and you can easily hear every word from tables two rows away without even trying. It’s not the best spot for a quiet, relaxing meal.

Highly recommended!!

Went with some friends, one of whom is vegetarian and we all went for the tasting menu. Didn't regret it one bit.

We chose the wine pairing with the meal and it works really well. I had the non veg option and everything was so good. My absolute highlight was the venison though. Just so tasty!!

The music and playlist brought back some old memories and really made out night. The ladies provided a wonderful service and can I give a shout out to the owner Lorna who was just so wonderful and even changed a couple of things out in terms of meal options.

Would absolutely go back there and recommend it to anyone who wishes to enjoy a nice meal in Edinburgh

Excellent food! This was my favorite stop in Edinburgh and I feel lucky that we got to eat here. The bread was soft and the butter tasty, the tomatoes were the best and the fish I had was buttery soft! The servers were really attentive and polite. Definitely recommend and would come back.

The food was lovely! We had Smoked Salmon Mousse, Ribeye Steak, Spring Green Risotto, and Toffee dessert. I saw a few reviews saying that the food was bland, but to us it was just right :)

I cannot say enough great things about this restaurant! My husband and I both ordered the tasting menu, I had the vegetarian and he the meat. Every dish was delicious, even things we were not sure we would like (looking at you haggis). And the waitress was so knowledgeable and sweet, she explained all the dishes to us and talked with us about visiting the area. We loved it and highly recommend going and trying out a bunch of different things.

Vi hade avsmakningsmenyn, och det var helt utsökt. Servicen var utmärkt, uppmärksam men inte pushy, pratade oss igenom alla rätter, bra pacing mellan kurserna också, vi var där i nästan två timmar och verkligen njöt av vibe och maten. Skulle absolut rekommendera denna plats!

Vi var så nöjda med vår erfarenhet här - personal så vänlig och mycket Välkomnande och kunnig. Vi hade avsmakningsmeny med vinflygning. Maten var utmärkt och väl presenterad och viner riktigt intressant.

Servicen var bra men maten var riktigt dålig. Ett par av oss beställde biff och den var så seg att den var oätlig. Brödet var riktigt degigt och chipsen som följde med biffen var så torra.

Mycket god hamburgare med en av de bästa chips som vi hade i vår resa runt Skottland. Ett särskilt tack till Erika, hon välkomnade oss i restaurangen och hon var mycket vänlig och trevlig under hela middagen Fyrstjärnigt och inte fem på grund av priset

Utmärkt måltid vid källardörren. Min man och jag åt här innan vi gick på en konsert på slottet. Vi beställde avsmakningsmenyn med vinparning Vi talade med personalen förbeställning som min man är celiaki & de erbjöd substitutioner där det behövs till vissa kurser för att tillgodose honom. Alla 6 rätter presenterades vackert & smakade fantastiskt , min mans celiakivänliga alternativa menyalternativ var precis lika trevliga som de jag åt & de var också underbara nog att byta gin fizz förrätt mot mig också . Inget kändes som för mycket besvär , härlig personal , härlig mat . Kommer tillbaka.

Min man och jag hade den mest underbara middag här! Detta var inte bara ett bra urval av skotsk mat, men helt enkelt fenomenal mat. Vi provade deras avsmakningsmeny — alla rätter var vackert balanserade, med utmärkta smaker och konsistens. Priserna var rimliga, servicen var vänlig och snabb, och atmosfären var härlig. Som min man uttryckte det: ”Detta är en femstjärnig recension, men tio stjärnor behövs!”

Helgutflykt med min partner. Hon åt ribeyebiffen som var perfekt, jag åt hjortburgaren som var väldigt god med temperaturer på maten som var klockren. Väl värt ett besök!

Vi trodde när du gör en bokning att det fanns en julmeny på den tiden, eftersom det fanns en meny på deras hemsida men det erbjöds inte. Platsen var mycket unik och snyggt inställd. Vi njöt dock inte av upplevelsen, det var två servitriser på, med en ta ut menyer för att visa oss till vårt bord, men den andra servitrisen klev in och tog över det. Ta inte brödet om det erbjuds, de tar nästan £ 4 . 95 för det i slutet och säsongens grönsaker på den tiden bestod av två bitar broccoli och några morötter som, var inte värt den extra kostnaden. Blev serverad fel cider och servitrisen blandade ihop beställningarna och vi blev serverade mat som var till bordet bakom. Var inte värt hypen eller 10% serviceavgiften som automatiskt lades till på räkningen.

Källardörren rekommenderades starkt till oss och vi var så glada att uppleva det som vi hade kommit till Edinburgh för helgen. . förrätterna började fantastiskt . . rätter var välsmakande och väl presenterade. . huvudrätten verkligen svikit stället . . Jag var tvungen att skicka min huvudrätt tillbaka eftersom det var kallt . . när de återvände med min ursprungliga maträtt det var fortfarande kallt (örtsmör smälte inte på biff) Jag åt inte det men var fortfarande debiteras fullt pris (erbjöds en te eller kaffe på huset) presentationen var dålig för det belopp som de tog betalt . . skulle inte rekommendera källardörren Jag är ledsen att säga . .

Fantastisk måltid här under en jul mini paus. Vi hade avsmakningsmenyn som använde lokala råvaror som var alla läckra och vi trodde mycket bra prissatt för vad vi hade. De gör också en vinparning om du vill. Vi har haft några lokala skotska viner och öl. Liten och intim miljö. All personal var mycket uppmärksam och lämnade en perfekt tid mellan kurserna. Skulle starkt rekommendera.

Bokade och betalade en deposition för ett bord som inte var klart i tid. Service var en av de mest skrämmande jag någonsin har upplevt. Kaotiskt, dramatiskt och oacceptabelt för pengarna. Servitrisen var synligt stressad och detta kunde kännas av de kunder hon serverade. Om du ska servera en NYE avsmakningsmeny så ta inte för många bord! Vi brydde oss inte om vinprovningen som vi kunde se servicen var skrämmande innan vi ens satt ner. Maten var ok, men servicen släppte hela upplevelsen ner. Helt överväldigande.

Min dotter och jag besökte den 20 december 2024 och åt Taste of Scotland 6 Course provsmakningsmeny. Det var helt utsökt, och vi har särskilt haft Haggis Parcel och Wild Venison. Servicen var fantastisk och matsalen var mycket välkomnande och hemtrevlig. Jag är så glad att jag snubblade över denna dolda pärla när jag googlade ställen att äta. Vi skulle starkt rekommendera denna restaurang och kommer definitivt tillbaka på vårt nästa besök i Edinburgh. Tack för en så trevlig kväll.

Vi besökte här för en tidig bokning för att boka julmenyn. Servicen och det vänliga välkomnandet uppskattade vi men julmenyn var inte så bra som vi hoppats. Vi njöt grundligt av förrätterna och desserten men julbordet var inte av samma kvalitet. Överkokt och inte alltför väl presenterad. Vi njöt av vinet vi valt och atmosfären vi skulle besöka igen men prova något annat på menyn.

Bokas här för middag. Vilket fynd . Servicen, atmosfären och maten var fantastisk. Vi åt den rökta laxmusen och hjortköttet som kokades till perfektion. Min partner hade Cullen skink till förrätt och var den bästa han någonsin haft. Skulle definitivt rekommendera. Kommer tillbaka.
