Absolutely brilliant little place. The service is beyond good, such friendly people. The decor is brilliant, complete with an old Yugo poster and other fun stuff. The filo slices were unbelievable, the beef one is perfectly balanced, meaty but not too meaty. Beautifully crispy pastry. The sour cherry baklava was also delicious. We'll be back!

Enjoyed the warmest welcome and the tastiest food at Mystic Burek for lunch today. The service was so fun, fast and friendly - absolute perfection. Great value in a cosy space. The food was unreal. I had a creamed spinach, Parmesan, potato and Kurdish chilli hot filo slice (occasionally dipping it into my husband’s garlic dip) and this was the best thing I’ve eaten this year. Just about had space for a little lemon cookie and a sour cherry baklava bun and loved the balance between sweet and savoury. Everything was perfect - can’t wait to return. Thank you Mystic Burek!

I had been meaning to go for so long after years of fawning over their Instagram. I’m so thrilled I managed to finally try their heavenly goods in person - it was worth the wait and then some. The Serbian Pork burek was my highlight, but the sour cherry baklava bun with Macedonian tea was incredible too.

Been here twice now and very lucky to have this place on my doorstep. Super tasty bureks and highly recommend the chorizo or lamb options. Always a couple of veggie ones on. Great service, super friendly and a lovely space. 10 mins from Forest Hill Overground.

My joy of seeing no queues turned into a pang of disappointment as I realised that they sold out all the legendary bureks in less than an hour (it opens at 12, I came at 1ish).

In the lovely, homely cafe that is reminiscent of an American diner, a Billie Holiday record was playing. Speak low, when you speak love. I was loving the atmosphere already.

A light in the tunnel at the end came in the form of the last slice of baklava bun topped with a sour cherry cream. The flavours intermingle in that cream: salty, sour, sweet, which is encased in a flaky bun. I can only imagine how good the files would be, which is why I promise to come back to this almost out of London gem.

The friendly shopkeeper, Urosh, chatted with us and he let me try some of his Smoki, a lovely peanut snack from the Balkans. He also helpfully recommended us lovely places around the area.

I love the place despite not having what I came there for. I can only imagine if I do.
