We were a party of 6, celebrating an 80th birthday. Our menus had been printed with Happy 80th Birthday on them and a little birthday treat at the end of the meal, which was a lovely touch. We did the tasting menu and wine pairing. The food was outstanding, and the wines were a perfect match. We have dined in many places doing tasting menus, and The Art School has by far been the best. The staff were all very attentive and friendly. We wouldn't hesitate to return and we would highly recommend this gorgeous restaurant.

In Liverpool to attend a concert and wanted a great pre-theatre meal. The Art School Restaurant offer an exciting Prix Fixe menu for £55 which looked worth trying, especially as menu options looked very appealing, and decided to go for it.

The meal certainly didn’t disappoint and had an excellent experience at this restaurant. Everything ordered at my table was extremely good.

We were given a delicious velouté as an amuse bouche to start the meal and we went for the cheese soufflé and a venison tartare for starters. For mains we had the guinea fowl and the cod loin. We ended the meal with a “trio” of signature desserts. Everything without exception was delicious and would certainly go back again to try either their larger Tasting (£125) or Excellence (£95) menus.

My only gripe was that, although delicious, my cod loin dish was far too small for a main dish. If I’d hazard a guess, the weight of the cod served was probably around 100g, which really isn’t acceptable as a main.

The service at the restaurant is courteous and professional, however the atmosphere, decor and interiors are a little too bland for my taste. With that said, I’d still go back in a heartbeat for the quality of cooking on offer.

Wonderful food and very friendly staff. Appetizers and mains were most appreciated around the table. The decor was very interesting, with the art pieces and the umbrellas hanging from the ceiling. They were mindful of dietary restrictions. The sommelier had very nice recommendations that paired well with the food, also within the wine by the glass section.

Eaten here many times but went for afternoon tea on my most recent visit. Was absolutely beauts! The cheese sandwich was to die for! Lovely scones and great pastries. Utterly fantastic

This was my first visit to the art school as part of a Christmas party. We ate in the moriarty room. First impressions are that of a parliament dining room or what I'd imagine it to be. Staff are very well presented and polite. For the food, We had the excellence menu. Champagne on arrival with chefs snacks and a selection of breads. A potato rosti slice with cream cheese and caviar and a crab cracker. Both are very nice, particularly the rosti. Starter we had the hare terrine with ham. Never had hare before, but this was exceptionally good. My main was venison, which was cooked to perfection. My only critique was its accompaniment. I know it's fine dining, but some portions could be a little bigger, and there wasn't a butternut squash fondant as described in the menu. I also did Google what a potato gateau was, and I got one boiled baby potato ???. That being said, all of the food on my main was excellent. Now dessert. Cherry and chocolate entremets. Just so light and delicious. My wife had the celebration of chocolate, which she said was heaven considering it was dairy free too. Overall, it was a lovely experience, but at Christmas, the venue could be dressed more for this occasion to create that atmosphere. We ended our evening in the cellar bar, which was a fab end to the occasion.
