Lovely location and well kept. First time ever I've had a full English breakfast and been hungry at the end. I had to ask for toast despite having pots of jam and butter on the table.
Shower in our room was first class! Rooms are a little compact with barely enough space to lay out 2 small suitcases. Noisy bathroom fan that runs 24/7.
Note. The pool is not included. You have to book a treatment at the spa. We went to visit and were asked to book online. Could not find a way of doing this so too much bother and decided against it.
Most impressed how they supplement their electric supply with a water powered generator.
We had dinner at the Swan Inn across the road, owned by the same people. Quite good with very good service. Lovely pub.

Myself and my partner booked the hotel for a weekend away to celebrate our engagement and it was fantastic.
There was a mix up with the rooms when we arrived which was very quickly resolved by Nick who was brilliant, he sorted the room, was super friendly and helpful and he also offered us a complimentary bottle of fizz.
The rooms were lovley, ours had a terrace overlooking the river, they were clean and spacious, very cosy and very warm! (We visited in Jan).
The pub across the road was great and reasonably priced, the food was good and there was a darts board, shuffle board and lots of games to play by the roaring fire.
The hotel has a stunning spa with super friendly and helpful staff.
The restaurant was amazing! The restaurant room itself was beautiful and characterful. We opted for the chefs menu and every dish that came out (there was a lot!) was fantastic. The gentlemen serving us was also an absolute pleasure.
Location wise it’s perfect only 25 mins from stow on the wold and bouton on the water and about a 10 minute drive to the farmers dig which we visited too. The area is quiet, scenic and just an all round great spot!
Would definitely recommend and will absolutely be coming back!

We recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel, and it was a mostly enjoyable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. The staff were i friendly and attentive.
Special mention must go to Gabriela, who works in the restaurant. She made our mornings truly special with her kindness and dedication. Our daughters were particularly enchanted by her and are now insisting on returning. Gabriela's warmth and professionalism are a testament to the high standards of this hotel.
However, our room was a bit of a letdown. The carpet was stained, and there were broken tiles in the bathroom, which made it feel a bit tired and in need of renovation. Despite this, the room was clean and well-appointed, and the amenities were excellent.
The hotel itself is beautifully located and offers a serene environment that is perfect for relaxation.
We would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay, but we hope that the management will take steps to address the maintenance issues in the rooms. We are already planning our next visit and can't wait to see Gabriela again.

"Beautiful Location, But Disappointing Rooms"

We were really looking forward to our couples stay at Minster Mill, but unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations. While the setting is undeniably stunning, the room itself was a letdown. It wasn't as clean as we had hoped, and for the price we paid, we expected much better quality. The location is gorgeous, but the room's condition made it feel overpriced and underwhelming. Would have loved for the accommodations to match the beauty of the surroundings.

I have to say that the staff on reception were brilliant, very friendly and welcoming and a credit to the owners, the grounds too are simply beautiful with some lovely walks. Unfortunately this is where the positive ends.

The rooms are terrible. Our first superior room was pleasant enough although very small, but wow, the heat was overwhelming. We were staying for 3 x nights and despite trying to get through the first night we hardly slept because the heat was so high and could not do another 2 x nights in that room. So we complained and were moved to another room.

The other room was far more spacious and much cooler. However it was tired, stains on the carpet, holes in the roof, taps that needed replacing etc. but it was cool so fair enough. The main problem with this room was the shower. The drains block and flood the bathroom and toilet if you shower for more than 2 mins. So much so we had to run a bath!! We complained again and was told someone would unblock it.

Whoever attended that room to see to it, only mopped it up. They did not clear the blockage. On the morning of departure the same problem arose. Leaving us to either get a bath or flood the flat…!! We ended up rushing and sharing the bath water before complaining again to the lovely lady on reception.

There are complaints about the high prices in their sister pub (£17.10 for a pint and glass of wine), the fact it is hard to get food late morning or early afternoon and that their main bar had no one serving, our coffee was not replaced, nor was the complimentary water, but these are all side issues. This is simply not 4 star but it could be. The owners have let it deteriorate too far but they could bring it back with the right focus.

Finally I notice there are some 5 star reviews on here so maybe the rooms are a bit of a lottery and we were just unlucky. Hate leaving poor reviews and just hoping that the owners take heed of the poor reviews and investigate for themselves.
