We stopped by for a couple of pints from the bar.  The cheese board here was excellent.  It's definitely something to share as the portions of each cheese were huge.  Great place to relax after a day of hiking up and down the royal mile.

Let's just say it was so good, we went 3 nights in a row!  Great local food and my son loved his REAL vanilla sundae, complimentary with kids meal.  The wine was my desert!

Absolutely fantastic food and experience. Traveling from the U.S.  As with all places in the UK, service is not as fast as America. But that's normal so don't complain. The food is fantastic. The service is great. Can't say enough. There was live music when we came on a Tuesday evening. Loved it! We grabbed lots of food and appetizers. So we spent a fair amount, but you could easily enjoy a meal for under £20.

One of the typical pubs in the centre of the tourist routes for showing attitude instead receiving customer with smile and welcoming vibes. Not really busy but still you have to wait for a drink at counter. No doubt nice atmosphere to cheer you up but i’m not here just for atmosphere.

BÄSTA JÄVLA GRAVY jag någonsin har haft. Fråga kocken för receptet asap. Denna bar mat är värt promenaden ner royal mile. Fantastisk personal, bättre mat. Jag hade även haggis och gillade det. Vilken måltid.

Brorsan och jag gick Royal Mile, och vi ville börja pubhoppa. Detta var det första stället vi såg och wow det var traditionellt och så fantastiskt! Personalen var så Välkomnande och varm, vi pratade i 20 minuter om var vi kommer ifrån och vad som förde oss till Skottland. Drinkarna var kalla och uppfriskande. De gav oss en lektion om landet Skottland och Storbritannien samt platser att se. Det var så intressant att uppleva denna pub precis vid Royal mile, ta en pint och sedan kunna fortsätta vårt äventyr ute, efter att regnet hade slutat. Det var perfekt miljö för en stor pint. Barservering samt mat - även om vi inte hade någon mat, det såg riktigt gott ut när det togs fram.

Utmärkt värde för pengarna Gastro Pub. Deras vänlighet och snabb... Servicen var utmärkt. Jag åt Fish and Chips och caesersallad. Härlig mat för under £ 15 . Rekommenderas.

Livlig pub med utmärkt och varierad meny och engagerande personal som såg efter oss mycket väl. Vi bestämde oss för att ha två delade tallrikar mellan fyra personer och njöt av variationen av de livsmedel som ingår och smak av de tre dopp. Bra val, den sydafrikanska Chardonnay var utmärkt värde och vår granne bord var upptagen av amerikaner släppa av sin dotter vid universitetet, som var gott sällskap - vad är inte att gilla?

Detta är en mycket trevlig pub med ett stort urval av öl whisky och cocktails. Personalen var mycket artig, glad och hjälpsam. Maten var också bra.

Bra Skinksoppa (fisk chowder - krämig) . Bra server. Hon presenterade mig för en mycket bra skotsk stout, March of the Penguins. Trevlig pub/restaurang atmosfär.

Canon’s Gait är en trevlig, rymlig pub i Edinburgh med ett bra urval av öl. Tyvärr, i allmänhet, personalen är konsekvent un - engagerande, ohjälpsam, sur och oförskämd. De verkar vara missnöjda med sitt arbete och ser kunderna som en olägenhet. Varför fortsätter folk med jobb som de uppenbarligen ogillar?

De bara sparkade ut oss eftersom vi ville beställa en måltid för vår son och öl och pommes frites för oss. Sa att vi var tvungna att beställa måltid för oss alla. Så dumt.

Jag hade en fantastisk eftermiddag, jag tog en öl och satt utanför vid ett bord på gångvägen och bara tittade på världen gå och köpa. Jag träffade flera människor från hela världen. När kvällen närmade sig gick jag in och åt en måltid, fish and chips vilket var grymt. Maten, servicen och dryckerna var fantastisk. Jag har haft det väldigt trevligt. Phil, Australia.

Vi fick sitta direkt men fortsatte sedan att vänta över 25 minuter med vår servitris lämnar restaurangen och andra som kom in efter oss serveras inom 5 minuter av sin server. Vi blev bortglömda och reste oss till slut och gick. Vi har haft otrolig service under vår vecka här men detta var helt fruktansvärt.

Härlig personal och utmärkt mat! Vi bodde på ett Airbnb i närheten och vandrade på en kväll och hade underbar mat och service. Scotch ägg, bangers och mos med Sticky kola till dessert. Vi var mycket nöjda!

Jag konsumerade två pints peroni, där jag betalade runt £ 14 och var mycket besviken. Det smakade som linjerna var smutsiga kommer inte att vara tillbaka var mycket nedslående som en och min fru spenderar mycket pengar på detta område.

Bra mat, rimliga priser, mycket bra service, lugn och trevlig atmosfär, rekommenderar definitivt det. De hade också levande musik, mycket roligt.

Trevligt besök (damerna bakom baren var mycket trevligt. Atmosfären förändrades när grinig rödskäggig bartender kom på. Jag bad honom om två single malt whisky. När jag frågade honom vem som var Balvennie skrek han tillbaka "vet du inte vad du dricker". Kommer inte tillbaka.

Medan jag väntade i baren för att bli serverad gick min partner för att få en plats, vid den tidpunkten sa en kvinnlig medlem av barpersonalen , ursäkta mig. Jag såg mig omkring för att se att barpersonalen riktade detta mot min partner som uppenbarligen inte hörde henne, sade medarbetaren, ursäkta mig igen. Min partner hörde uppenbarligen inte igen och fortsatte att gå till ett bord. Jag är inte säker på vad problemet var men den anställde sa då "f***s sake" högt. Öppet och inför mig själv och en annan kund som står bredvid mig i baren. Jag sa till personalen att vi var tillsammans och hon svarade bara okej. Ingen ursäkt eller minsta antydan till ånger. Tanken förvånar att människor med attityder som denna kan hitta ett arbete, än mindre arbeta inom besöksnäringen.
