I think if it’s your first time in QC, this is a must do. My partner and I were able to walk in a little after peak lunch time on a Sunday afternoon and we were told the wait would be 30 min, but it was only 5. Also, you do have to wait around as they don’t take names/phone numbers. Highly recommend a reservation, especially during peak hours/seasons.  Very kitschy and fun atmosphere!

We split pea soup, the meat pie nuggets, and the shepherd’s pie. All were excellent and very filling! Also, staff were super nice and helpful when it came to answering questions about the menu. Food came out super fast!

La Buche is our favorite restaurant in Quebec City! Everything we had was incredible. The food is flavorful and filling. They have an amazing brunch with great options. Everything we ordered was delicious! Also, the staff was super friendly and welcoming. They were attentive and kind even during a massive brunch rush. We loved it so much we had to stop back in for a pre-dinner drink/appetizer! Also, be sure to check out their other spots around town!

Food was okay with good atmosphere.
As we didn’t make any reservation, we still get a table on Christmas Day, which is great. We waited outside for about half an hour and able to get in. Me and my friend ordered onion soup for starter and it tastes good. There’s an amazingly thick layer of cheese on top of the soup, it might be a little too much cheese? Also with much cooked onion in the soup which is soft and tasted good, I like it. However my soup has too much fillings but barely soup. We ordered a beef flank steak, a meat pie and a shepherd’s pie for the main course. Honestly the food is mediocre for this price. Service is good, all staff attend to our needs which is impressive at such a busy time.

Maten är okej men inte en stor överraskning med tanke på Väntetiden. Servicen är helt fruktansvärt och RACIST. Vi gjorde inte en reservation så vi väntade i kön. Receptionen skrev inte ner namnet. Han hälsade sedan på en annan grupp bakom oss och släppte in dem före oss eftersom de talade Franska. Ursäkta? ? När vi hade satt oss blev det ännu löjligare. Vår servitör var så upptagen med att småprata och flirta med två unga damer bredvid oss och ignorerade helt de andra få borden i hans område. Vi föreslog flera gånger men ignorerades. De pratade i typ 10 minuter innan vi var tvungna att avbryta deras samtal för att lägga till lite mat till vår beställning. Sedan dess har han blivit otålig och upprörd på oss. Vi har haft en god middag på La Buche, Quebec City. Det är en populär turistrestaurang med god mat. Presentation av rätterna var utmärkt, och Servicen var effektiv, med tanke på hur upptagen det var. Löksoppan var rykande het och generöst lastad med ost och lök. Till dessert, rekommenderar starkt "fattigmanspudding" med glass och lönnsirapspaj. Tack vare den guide vi hade tidigare på dagen visste vi vad dessa var innan, annars kanske vi hade missat det! "Poor man's pudding" är en vit kaka dränkt i en karamell - som lönnsås som får dina ögon att rulla upp i bakhuvudet. Lönnsirapspajen hade en halvfast fyllning gjord på jag vet inte vad (förmodligen ägg, grädde och majsstärkelse) , men var inte alltför söt, och den toppades med blandade rostade nötter och lite lönnsirap. Nötterna gjorde det definitivt speciellt. Var bara förvarnad om de okonventionella badrummen: snarare än "mäns" och "kvinnors", är alla badrum bara enskilda små rum med toaletter i dem, och sedan finns det ett gemensamt område att tvätta händerna efteråt, som består av ett badkar med några rör ovanför det med ventiler, och du vrider ventilen och vattnet kommer ner. Det är roligt och funky, men definitivt oväntat!

Vi ville prova lite av det lokala köket. Det gjorde vi här, och det var bra. Vår server var utmärkt. Han var super vänlig och kunnig.

Min man och jag beställde två skålar ärtor - soppa och två sallader med rökt forell. En av salladerna hade ett långt svart hår i sig. Salladerna serverades utan bröd, och de glömde att ge oss vårt vin. Toaletterna var mycket smutsiga. Allt - i - allt, det var dyrt och inte en mycket bra upplevelse

Var så ser fram emot en rolig kväll - vi var en grupp av 3 Québécois och 3 ut - av - stadsbor. Vi hade aldrig varit i La Bouche och hörde att det var den perfekta platsen för en autentisk Q City matupplevelse. Fick reda på att det bara var marknadsföring och det är en autentisk turistfälla. Huvudkyparen var trevlig nog i början men sedan började varningssignaler när han mellan rätterna började prata superhögt med bord runt omkring oss och avbröt våra samtal. Han var definitivt avstängd. Kändes riktigt negativa vibbar från annan personal också. Var de i slagsmål? Tråkigt att vi gick vidare till alla våra favorit gamla - stadspubar som har mycket bättre mat och servrar som visar uppriktig vänlighet och omsorg som de flesta Q City servicepersonal har för sina kunder. La Bouche är inte rätt plats att gå för en autentisk Q City matupplevelse. Gå någon annanstans!
