I think if it’s your first time in QC, this is a must do. My partner and I were able to walk in a little after peak lunch time on a Sunday afternoon and we were told the wait would be 30 min, but it was only 5. Also, you do have to wait around as they don’t take names/phone numbers. Highly recommend a reservation, especially during peak hours/seasons.  Very kitschy and fun atmosphere!

We split pea soup, the meat pie nuggets, and the shepherd’s pie. All were excellent and very filling! Also, staff were super nice and helpful when it came to answering questions about the menu. Food came out super fast!

La Buche is our favorite restaurant in Quebec City! Everything we had was incredible. The food is flavorful and filling. They have an amazing brunch with great options. Everything we ordered was delicious! Also, the staff was super friendly and welcoming. They were attentive and kind even during a massive brunch rush. We loved it so much we had to stop back in for a pre-dinner drink/appetizer! Also, be sure to check out their other spots around town!

Food was okay with good atmosphere.
As we didn’t make any reservation, we still get a table on Christmas Day, which is great. We waited outside for about half an hour and able to get in. Me and my friend ordered onion soup for starter and it tastes good. There’s an amazingly thick layer of cheese on top of the soup, it might be a little too much cheese? Also with much cooked onion in the soup which is soft and tasted good, I like it. However my soup has too much fillings but barely soup. We ordered a beef flank steak, a meat pie and a shepherd’s pie for the main course. Honestly the food is mediocre for this price. Service is good, all staff attend to our needs which is impressive at such a busy time.

"La Buche was a fantastic find during our recent trip to Quebec City. The ambiance is incredibly charming, with a cozy and inviting atmosphere that perfectly captures the old-world vibe of the city. The exposed brick walls and warm lighting created a truly cozy atmosphere.
The bilingual service was top-notch – our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel very welcome. The food was delicious! We particularly enjoyed the unique poutine and the classic shepherd's pie. Both dishes were flavorful and well-presented.
Overall, La Buche provided a wonderful dining experience. Highly recommend!"

Wow! The food is outstanding! The service is on another level, I have never experienced such fresh amazing food to come out so fast! On top of that definitely go here for their mimosa deal such a great deal!
