One of the best contemporary restaurants in the area for such a good price! I was exceptionally full and satisfied. Loved it, would definitely come back. Flavours were very rich. Service was divine as well.

I had originally made a reservation here thinking the dine out menu was available, but I guess it must’ve been a ticketed event? Anyways, I think it might’ve been better that dine out wasn’t available as my fiancée and I were able to order dishes we both decided on rather than being at the mercy of a prix fixe tasting menu. We started off with a couple of their cocktails with my fiancée getting their Cosmo and I opted for their Hotel Nacional. Both were nice fruity’er options and the Nacional had a great citrus/orange flavour. For food, we started off with the side stripe prawns which was probably my favourite dish we ordered, then we had the Wagyu Beef Carpaccio, Aebleskiver, Sweet Onion Agnolotti, and finished with the Fried Chicken. I was initially a bit worried after the shrimp dish that the portions may be a bit smaller, but the pasta and fried chicken were definitely too much and we probably could’ve just done one of the two as we were both stuffed and took home most of our fried chicken. My fiancée had wine with her meal and was thoroughly impressed with the selection and knowledge of their servers. I am a huge Caesar fan and couldn’t resist trying the Nitro Caesar and it did not disappoint. It is definitely not a Caesar but it was so flavourful and a great drink to have alongside the food. As I said, we were both stuffed so we didn’t do dessert but the tables beside us were enjoying the desserts and they looked amazing and very tempting. No question here why it’s a Michelin star restaurant and we would definitely come back.

The chef’s selection of snack is well executed and well thought; applaud to the steelhead. The next few courses are appetizers, nothing spectacular but the chefs sure put quite some efforts into making the dishes. Over to the entrees, the pickerel is a bit too dry for us but the broth is decent; the bison is cooked perfectly but the jus is a bit too salty for our taste; the winter squash with the foie gras (foie gras is extra) is absolutely delicious, we both enjoy this dish the most out of all the savoury dishes as the squash complements the foie gras so well that they are well balanced. However, what surprises us the most is not from the savoury menu but the sweet escape, ending the night with such sophisticated desserts is what makes the whole experience remarkable. BC melon is definitely something we will always remember and wish for.

The food is great but the service is not as we are both extremely disappointed with our server because of how we are being neglected the entire time, especially when we have prepaid for the tasting menu which means the service fees have been paid long before we come to experience this. We do hope you could improve the service with a better training since the food runners have bigger smiles than the servers.

I recently enjoyed a tasting course with wine pairing at this restaurant, and it was truly a memorable experience. The food was phenomenal, and the service was attentive and professional. My only minor gripe was the mandatory 20% tip, which I felt took away the option to personally decide the tip amount based on my experience. Overall, though, it was a fantastic evening that I would highly recommend to others.
