Great 500 person venue for live performances. I'd go again. Old man tips: General admission so get there early and don't drink so you don't have to pee. Wear quality shoes to stand for hours. Wear ear protection.

I came here on February 20th to see Hulvey and it was great. I was watching the concert from mezzanine standing area and it was a great view + not that many people were on the mezzanine standing area. The sound was good and the lights were great also and I also liked how the disco ball was used too. Overall, it was a great concert and a great venue.

Great small venue! Entering was a breeze, there was a coat check but I didn't use it. Balcony and main floor were all general admission. Drinks were much better priced than larger venues. The Bathroom concierge was unexpected. I went for Dear Rouge and they sounded great.

Great venue! We saw Evan Honer and his opener, Brendan Walter for the first time this week. The venue is small and intimate with a very unique vibe. The sound was really good. I would like to try the balcony next time. Bathrooms are downstairs, not wheelchair accessible. They have one large bar and a few other small ones throughout, which was great. There is a coat check for $5. I would definitely see any band or artist at this venue.

We saw@MattNathanson last night. Amazing show ( go see him if you ever get the chance). The Opera house was a lovely venue. Staff and security were friendly and kind. The bartender at the lower bar was fun and helpful! Highly recommend!

Nice small venue for a concert. The washroom downstairs is a little chaotic when you send everyone down for a quick break. It was hard to go up and down the stairs as it was narrow, so had to wait for people to pass first. Water was $7 in a can... which is a lot.

This is a really interesting venue to go to. It's small, it still looks like the vaudeville theater it started life as. And, it's really loud because of the layout. It also seems like the type of place that is floor only. But, the real trick for anybody over the age of 30, is to rush in immediately and go to the second floor. Grab a table and stand and watch from up there. The view is better, the sound is better, and you're not fighting with everyone around you. If you're one of the first 16 or 20 people, you can even get a seat. But try to keep that secret quiet, so there's a seat for me next time I go!

This is a beautiful old venue in Leslieville / Riverdale. I have been here for concerts as well as raves. The room is quite big, and there is a balcony upstairs. Acoustics aren't bad! Probably are designed for actual opera, and not rave music. Staff are efficient - never waited in line long to get in or at the bar.

The security guard is really, I would say extremely harsh and impolite, showing no respect to my girlfriend. Once she was told that she's not allowed to enter the house, she showed frustration but she's willing to leave and all she wants is to accompany me for a bit more time. We did not expect the shouting from that men screaming: LEAVE!!!! to my gf when she's LITERALLY ON HER WAY TO EATON CENTER. We would love to follow the rules IF the security guard would have at least a sympathy tone!!!!! Show some respect to a poor girl who lost her only chance to see her favorite band and the chance to accompany her partner to the entrance. More training on social etiquette is needed for security guard

This is a small venue east of downtown with a standing area and a balcony. I came here for a K-Pop concert for the group BAP. I have mixed feelings about my experience here. Before arriving at the venue I understood that it was $4/item for coat check but what I didn't understand was at the concert I attended we were given a drawstring bag with merchandise inside and told we had to have it checked. The bags should have been given to us later since it was a blatant money grab of another $4. We were told we HAD to check our jackets but later found so many people with their jackets still on inside. How come there was this disparity?

I think this is a great place to see a metal or less known band. Acoustics may not be perfect but you can see the band from everywhere and I thought the place had a great atmosphere. The highlights: - Easy to get there (street car runs every few minutes, 10 minutes from Younge st.) - Cheap drinks - Multiple bars - security is not as aggressive as other locations - intimate feel with the Band - you can get really close to the stage and get a good view of the stage from all areas - Sound is OK (given ticket prices) - Concert prices are very reasonable On the downside - Bathrooms are in the basement - No need for a bathroom attendant in the washroom I look forward to seeing my next concert here.

BOTTOM LINE: Um, I can't hear any of the lyrics because the sound reverbs so much off all the walls, so....1 STAR. Not sure how other Yelpers, despite their complaints, still end up giving this place 4 STARS. I've been to a few shows here over the years but don't think I ever realized how poor the sound is until my recent attendance to the Hilltop Hoods for CMW. This hip hop group with melodic injections became non-stop, incomprehensible noise. My group left early because their work became so distorted. :( This, perhaps, isn't that surprising when you look at what's been done to the gutted insides of a opera house of yesteryear - basically nothing. An original venue meant to amplify the human voice (check out the curved ceiling) doesn't translate well when you have massive speakers already amplifying the sound in a small-ish space. All you're left with is muffled vocals and way too much bass. Plus, it gets really hot in there no matter what the season. Sadly, after this most recent experience, I don't think I will come back here - unless, of course, hologram Tupac's playing. :P

I have not been to the Opera House for a few years but my recent experience there will definitely encourage future trips . It is funky place with loads of atmosphere and a good sound system . The staff and security are excellent , in fact i had asked a manager there a question and even got a reply on gig day which is awesome [ Athena ! ] . If you havent been to the Opera House you owe it to yourself to check this gem of a place out .

I would recommend against going to this music venue. If you can go to a show at The Danforth or th Phoenix, I'd recommend going there instead. It is a true shame if music artists end up playing at this venue. The security is needlessly aggresive for such a venue and the drinks are overpriced. Avoid seeing showes at this venue if you can.
