A grand historic building situated next to the new city hall (much more modern and sadly much less pretty). The old buildings in Canada from the 1800's have such a majestic quality. The turrets, the gargoyles, clock faces, arches, and stonework.

Historical Site.

Well, sad to see an end of an era.

I spent many days and evenings at Old City when I was a paralegal and defended my clients in the various courtrooms.

I met many amazing Crown Attorneys, Police Officers, and other Paralegals who helped me along the way and were great teachers.

Toronto Old City Hall is not just one of Toronto's past legal hub, it was also once City Hall, as the name would imply.

Construction started back in 1889 and took 11 years to complete. But not with its drama.

There was a lot of tension back then between the City Hall councillors and the architect, E.J Lennox, so much tension that he made sure to sketch the faces of his foes in the very bricks of the building.

He also sketched his name into the building.

If you have a chance, take a stroll through the grand staircases and hallways.

The building is both breathtaking from the outside and inside.

If those walls could talk. If those courtrooms could talk.

So very famous cases were heard in those courtrooms and some very famous people also walked up those very same steps that are still there.

And end of an era, but never to be forgotten.

A nice- looking building with old European architecture style in the outside part!!! It is right next to the Toronto New City Hall!!! :) Also it is easy to visit from the Union Station Toronto… It has a clock tower, and it right for every 30minutes!!! 😄😄😄😃😃😃
