This resort despite its exorbitant room rate (4 figure room rate) will not allow you to use the steam or sauna at the spa without shelling out USD 150 per turn unless you make a day pass ever heard of a luxury hotel charging you for such a basic facility.
There is no complimentary fruit in the room and some toiletries placed by the bath tub also have to be purchased. While the staff is polite and service excellent - our butler Rodrigo is doing all to look after us, for a luxury property to nickle and dime every damn thing is petty and shockingly stingy.
Basically YOU ARE PAYING TOP DOLLAR FOR JIST YOUR ROOM AND THE VIEW.
No breakfast included either - everything is plus plus.
I’m a seasoned luxury traveller and travel writer and this is the first time I’ve experienced a property that will  charge you to sneeze after already charging you an enormous room rate.
Wish we had booked at the Four Seasons instead.

This review is long overdue. Our experience has been perfect since we booked our trip. We visited in June 2024. We had a follow up email/call from guest services to ensure details of our stay etc. Since you step foot on the property, the location is beautiful and the property maintenance immaculate. I appreciated the level of security and care they take, in checking in with the security gate prior to arriving at Lobby. Our check in process was seamless and the room was a dream. We were tired from a long day of travel and ordered room service. The food was perfect and service great. You can tell from the slightest details to the anticipation of your needs that everyone works very hard to make your stay perfect.  We are Ritz Carlton fans, but a reserve property was our first. It was really step up from the best, and I cannot recommend enough. It’s apparent the management and staff are in tune, and that makes for a perfect stay. We had no hiccups on our stay, and plan to return very soon.

The hardest part of staying here is the tip culture. Requesting anything from a bucket of ice or a ride uphill to your room, a tip ($5-$10 or more) is expected. I get it… but it starts to get stressful if you’ve been depleted of cash within the first few days and start scrambling for more cash to tip everyone here. Just ruins the relaxation and kind of flips the hospitality role back on the guest. You get worried about pleasing the staff. It’s a lot of money spent on staying here, and the expectation of compensation retaliation is harsh and heavy. Especially when 15% is already added to every check.

We had a great time at Zadun. The staff were extremely attentive and took care of us really well. It feels like a little private neighborhood and it wasn't uncommon for us to go out walking without seeing another individual. Beautiful views, of course.

The restaurants on the property were good, but not spectacular. Humo was our least favorite, despite being their flagship restaurant. Breakfast was by far our favorite at Barrio. In room dining was solid as well. Don't miss out on the Fish Market pop up restaurant on Tuesday and Saturday nights which was very tasty. The positivity of the staff at the restaurants was often the "extra" that made good food into a great experience.

If you're looking to just relax and lounge for a couple of days, you can definitely stay within the property and never lift a finger. If you're going to be there for a few days, I would suggest getting out and exploring a bit. I'm sure we will be back.

This was the worst vacation we ever had. This hotel is so secluded. You were only able to get food in the restaurants. A supermarket was 45 minutes away. We were charged $75 for someone to get us a tube of bacitracin. What kind of hotel doesn’t sell basic sundries?  And our butler was not available half of the time. So not impressed.
