We really enjoyed our dinner. The restaurant is somewhat hidden and upstairs is a very pretty terrace overlooking the street. The atmosphere was laid back and relaxed. All the servers were polite, friendly and able to answer our questions about the menu. My girlfriend ordered the Agnolotti, and loved it. I ordered the Roasted Berkshire Pork chop, it was spectacular. To start we had some olives and a nice glass of wine. Everything was great, we would definitely return.

Our friend brought us here, saying it’s one of her favorite spots, and it did not disappoint! The pork skewers, pasta, desserts, and drinks were all incredible. The atmosphere was excellent, making it a place I’d definitely return to when visiting Mexico City!

We got the eggplant toast, mushroom pasta, steak tartare, soft shell crab, and two desserts. Everyone at my table got food poisoning the same night or next day, most likely from the crab which tasted off. Waiters were quick and attentive but getting sick ruined the whole experience. See other 1/2 star reviews and you’ll see this is unfortunately a common experience.

Lovely spot that we stopped for a drink and some great food. The squash blossoms are incredible and the staff is very friendly and attentive. Ask to sit outside on the upstairs patio!

Look…. It was delicious.  The service was lovely. The cocktails were great. They answered the question of how to fuse Mediterranean and Mexican quite well. Personally I think some dishes had ‘too’ many flavors. But none made them ‘not good/understandable’ everything was lovely. If there weren’t so many other amazing restaurants I’d return next week. But it’ll wait until my next visit.

Meroma: Chic Restaurant in Roma Norte, CDMX

Vi åt aldrig på Meroma. Vi satt i baren på gatunivå och drack drinkar och vin i några timmar. Roma Norte har blivit för trendigt och populärt. Jag ville njuta av flera nya cocktail lounger i detta hippa område. Men de var alla fullsatta på en torsdag eftermiddag och hade inte plats för två äldre gringos. Det inkluderade Brujas och Tlecan. Baren på gatunivå på Meroma är till synes restaurangens bar, där grupper väntar på sina bord. Ändå välkomnades vi av Victor och besättningen och behandlades väl. Meroma var nog bättre än de trendiga lederna i alla fall, och Victor var en mästerlig mixolog. Mina cocktails var bra. Vi hade en så bra tid på Meroma bar, vi kommer tillbaka för att prova menyn.

Vi beställde 5 rätter och varenda en var undermålig. Låt oss börja med den lilla lagom stora focacia bröd aptitretaren. Jag kände smaken av brödet dränkt i olja och toppat med blöt blomkålsbit. Fänkålssalladen var smaklös och kändes mer som selleri än fänkål. Den påminde mig om den hemska coleslaw man får på restauranger i USA. Orrechietepastan höll på att drunkna i en gräddsås och merguezen fanns ingenstans att hitta. Intetsägande och flottig. Grillad fisk skulle vara havsabborre men den torkade fiskbiten verkade tillfälligt ha dragits ut ur frysen. Och att lägga till förolämpning till skadan var fruktansvärt och ouppmärksam service. Meroma du har en lång väg att gå...

Vi ville verkligen gå till Meroma på vår sista kväll i CDMX men kunde inte få en bokning så vi gick över och tog en chans på att komma in. Först hade de bara sittplatser i väntrummet nära baren men inom några minuter öppnades ett trevligt bord utanför. Vi började med sötpotatisförrätten som bara hade en antydan av sött. Den hade en kikärt och avokado topping som var mycket välsmakande. Varje tugga var en något annorlunda smak. Vi beställde några av deras läckra surdegsbröd som förväntade sig att behöva något att suga upp såser och var glada att vi gjorde. Brödet kom med en trevlig lite kryddig topping. Till förrätt åt vi pasta med svamp vilket var fantastiskt. Vi var så glada att ha brödet så vi lämnade inte en droppe på tallriken. Såsen var lätt men ostig och svampen var perfekt. Vi hade också dagens fångst som visade sig vara Dorado. . en mycket fast vit fisk som serverades med en härlig topping. Portionen var mycket generös så mitt enda klagomål var att vi var för mätta för att äta dessert. Personalen var mycket vänlig och effektiv. Mitt enda klagomål var att vita sitter på gatan vi kontaktades av ett antal vuxna och barn som säljer saker samt människor som ber om $. Det fanns ett antal andra intressanta saker på menyn. Med 2 drinkar och 3 förrätter vår räkning (med dricks) var runt $ 80 US som vi tyckte var mycket rimligt.

Bra avslappnad service - uppmärksam men inte overbearing. Varmt. Utsökt mat - en plats på ceviche med en riktigt intressant dressing - något nötig, lite av en tang. Huvudkycklingen var för mycket - markerad som ”att dela” men skulle lätt ha matat en hungrig familj på fyra. Hej - ha förtroende för att sätta kvalitet framför kvantitet. En sådan avstängning när en hel hög med kyckling anländer. Det här är ingen KFC-upplevelse. Briljant dessert - chokladkruka, med en choc smulig topping, kokosglass och en strimma av en fruktig sås. Cocktails mot gott. Margaritas trevligt inte söt, och en perfekt espresso martini - tät kaffebas, och igen, inte över söt. Åt här två gånger den här veckan, och stor konsistens på cocktails, mat och service.

Efter en vecka med fantastiska måltider i Mexico City såg vi verkligen fram emot middag på Meroma. Tyvärr, medan maten var mycket bra den mediokra till dålig service förorenade vår erfarenhet. Servitören (uppenbarligen oerfaren) kom till vårt bord 3 - 4 gånger och bad oss att upprepa vår beställning, tog med fel drycker, och den faktiska felaktiga förrätt (vilket skulle ha varit förlåtligt om han inte hade bett oss att upprepa det flera olika gånger! ) Min man slutade äta sin måltid ensam för att undvika kall mat medan det tog tjugo minuter för min korrekta beställning att komma fram. Även om bristen på erfarenhet var uppenbar förvärrades den dåliga servicen av att flera av serveringspersonalen kurade ihop sig i hörnet, bläddrade igenom sina telefoner, inte checkade in på bordens behov. Återigen, maten var utsökt och väl utfört men till deras pris punkt Meroma behöver göra bättre på professionell service. Jag bör notera att Meroma var en definitiv outlier för service på vår upplevelse i Mexico City och över prisspektrumet både mat och service var enastående. Det var det enda stället vi någonsin har ätit där vi inte erbjöd dricks i slutet - som servitören slutade ifrågasätta - men tjänsten verkligen inte motiverar något.

Allt vi beställde var utsökt, särskilt förrätter av zucchini blommor och foccacia. Cocktailarna var också mycket goda. Restaurangen i sig är intim med en mycket trevlig terrass. Det är ett bra ställe att gå på middag som ett par eller med en nära vän. Kvaliteten på maten som du får för priset är stor.

Det hade varit en väldigt lång dag och vi ville ha något gott men det funkade inte så hårt. Merom träffade platsen perfekt. Vi delade på tempura squashblommorna, agnolettin och den rostade kycklingen. Svampagnolettin må vara den bästa jag någonsin ätit, varje tugga var perfekt. Kycklingen var saftig och smakrik. Verkligen en enastående måltid i mod rummet. Jag skulle äta här igen.

Vi blev lite besvikna. Detta är en mycket medioker restaurang, ingenting att jämföra med några andra restauranger i grannskapet.

Maten var omärklig och för salt. Tjänsten var alldeles rusad. Jag slutade min aptitretare och vår servitör ryckte plattan från mig den andra jag satte ner min gaffel. Sedan tittade han på min man och såg att han nästan slutade, stod bakom honom och väntade på att få tag i sin tallrik den andra gaffeln gick ner. Stämningen var ok men inte bra. Det var något under genomsnittet runt omkring. . Visst, inte värt pengarna. Det finns bättre ställen att äta i CDMX.

Vi kunde ta ett bord på en fredagskväll som var mycket lyckliga. Maten och servicen var underbar - kockarna tränas vid NY International Culinary Institute och deras skicklighet visade.

Rätter var små och dyr. Personalen engagerade sig inte alls då förväntade sig ett stort tips. Det finns så många fantastiska platser i området - jag skulle gå någon annanstans.

Vi har bott på fyra kontinenter och rest världen och det är svårt att komma ihåg en plats där vi har haft bättre mat, drycker och vin. Dessutom är atmosfären rolig och modern samtidigt som den är bekväm och elegant. Tjänsten lämnar dig som vill ha för ingenting. Jag rekommenderar starkt denna otroliga restaurang och matupplevelse.
