This  building is a five. The art collection, except for the famous murals, are a three, so let’s settle on a four.

The building is absolutely sumptuous with its rich use of marble, onyx and travertine. The lobby with its beautiful Mexican art deco style is also stunning. On each level are enormous murals, the most famous of which finds Diego Rivera celebrating Stalin’s Red Army triumphing over capitalism. It’s an interesting work even if the politics haven’t exactly dated well. Entrance costs $95 but you don’t get to see the theatre.

A jaw-dropping Art Deco masterpiece. The exterior of the building and the interior are completely different designs. The main level of the building is free and one of the best examples of Art Deco architecture in the world. Renew your faith in humanity and visit this masterpiece. I promise it will be worth it!

Great museum. Not so big, you can see everything in less than 2 hours. For murals you can get very good descriptions in Spanish on the museum website. The line can be pretty long to get in but it moves pretty fast. The building itself is art nouveau, with some details in the internal architecture referencing pre Hispanic deities

This place is so eye catching that it can’t be missed while walking around the downtown of Mexico. It holds many cultural events like folk ballets and other performances that need to be booked in advance. At night it looks even prettier due to light effect. It has a nice beautiful park on the right side along with adjoining interesting shops.

A must place to visit. If you buy a ticket for a show I recommend to buy in the back you can see everything better. The front row chairs are more pricey and not worth it because in the back you can see the musicians. Bring cash they do no accept credit cards.
