Our stay at the Thomson was great. The front desk personal was always very helpful and kind. However, upon arrival they gave us a garden view when we booked a partial ocean view but since the hotel was fully booked we could not get that room. We did receive a free night though because of this. Additionally, there is a ton of sargassum when we visited (late May) so do yourself a favor and search up of this is during season because we had no beach access at all from the hotel. Some days it made the outdoor area smell bad but mostly it was bearable. The rooms were amazing- I was astonished by them. The pool area was beautiful as well, when we went there wasn’t many people there. There are bartenders by the beach area during hours which is nice. The location was spectacular- right off fifth avenue, but we did not hear very loud music at night really surprisingly! You have to pay 12$ a day for valet parking but we found local parking in the area (just make sure to pay for parking after 10 AM even if there are no signs because we got a ticket from this). Overall we enjoyed our experience very much.

This is the first hotel I’ve ever wanted to leave with more than half my stay remaining, knowing I won’t get the money back. The service here is just completely non-existent in an almost confusing way. Checked in as a globalist and was given legitimately 0 information. I don’t know where breakfast is, where the gym is, where my room or elevator was, how to order room service if wanted, nothing. The restaurant staff is equally as dismissive and will only do anything if you go and flag them down. I asked if they had a happy hour (it’s on the menu) and the guy looked at me like I was crazy and kept making me ask follow up questions. I do not recommend this place at all.

Also none of this is a language barrier, Spanish is my first language so they don’t even get to use that excuse.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! This place is run by criminals who will rip you off.  The property had no air conditioning in July of 2024 and they wanted to make me stay there or told me I could only transfer to another Hyatt property and they would keep my money.  Francisco is the head criminal down there who lies to customers and doesn't take problems seriously.  This property is an embarrassment to the Thompson and Hyatt Name.  90 Degrees in my room and the staff acted like that wasn't a problem or a big deal.  This place is actually a tourist's worst nightmare.  Please learn from my experience and stay anywhere else.

Do not stay here. Staff are confused. The hotel charged the wrong card at check-in. Wouldn’t let me use another card at check-in, telling me that processing a refund would take 2 months. I spent all weekend going back and forth with staff and a manager about if they could process a refund and change the card, with every human I spoke to telling me something different.

I booked two rooms, and the first day water was leaking through the ceiling in the shower in one of the rooms. They couldn’t change the room for 24 hours. When they did change the room, they immediately put another guest in that room (3005), telling us it had magically been fixed. The entire ceiling was dripping water, so I doubt it. There is also water damage in our room 3003. Photo attached

This hotel is absolute trash. For the price, you should stay ANYWHERE else. This is unlike any stay I’ve had at other Hyatt or Thompson properties.

Update: a manager, Francisco, also finally showed up (3 days of inquiry, he showed up 25 minutes before we were checking out). He was a real douche. Telling me nothing that hadn’t been said before. Outside of being a douche, he told me he would send a confirmation of the refund. Which hasn’t arrived. At this point, I have definitely been charged for the entire stay twice, and may or may not have a refund processed for the first charge, since they are unable to provide any kind of verification of the initiation of the process on their end.

Thankfully, we were upgraded to a suite at the Beach House due to AC issues at the other hotel, which was appreciated, had a great stay! Had a flat tire which the valet parking staff sorted quickly on our way out, we were able to catch our flight thanks to the them! Great service!
