Food, service, space, family friendly was honestly a 10🙌🏼 but the bathroom wasn’t great and I have 3 boys potty training so I can’t give 5 stars. But we ABSOLUTELY will be back because the service was great, our server was very attentive & mindful of bringing booster seats for our kids & making sure we had everything we needed. The food was delicious! The chicken was flavorful & waffle was perfect. Collard greens & Mac were on point too. The location is beautiful & the restaurant is spacious. Def a must if you’re in the area in the mood for chicken & waffles.

This location was beyond nasty! Chicken didn’t taste good at all! Overall taste of the food was not good! Also they charge you $3.00 for a refill on kool-aid. It’s not on the menu either. Waitress just said it’s policy now.

We ate dinner here on a Saturday afternoon (around 4pm) .
First, we got the wrong drinks, I didn’t mind, lemonade ended up being fine. We go to order, and they are already out of the sides we wanted. It was like each thing we tried to substitute, they didn’t have. On top of that, my wife is a vegetarian , and despite a large menu of veggie sides, we were told by our waitress that none of them were vegetarian. Our waitress definitely was having trouble with the English language, but we didn’t want to make her feel bad… so we just kept changing our order until it was actually stuff they had in stock. My son really enjoyed his wings (that’s why I gave the food one extra star). My chicken breast was incredibly dry and was not seasoned at all. My wife settled for an omelette, that was slimy. At the end they do the check at the table, while the waitress stands there, so you’re basically guilted into leaving a good tip.
In the end…for 3 people to eat, we spent roughly $90 after the tip.
We have been to the location south of downtown Phoenix, and was impressed . So when we saw the one in Gilbert, we didn’t think twice about the quality. We definitely will not be returning.

The place was nice, good location. The Food lost its soul touch. No flavor in the chicken, and no flavor in the cornbread. Service was very very slow 20min to get our order taken n another 20 min to get our drinks.  Very very pricey for the food being sold. Needs to return to what it was when it was started in a house.

Music is poppin', our server, "Ray" was professional, kind, friendly, and made suggestions, and the overall atmosphere is good. The food was good too. I wasn't expecting good soul food in Gilbert. The yams are sweet, the chicken is seasoned, the waffles are tasty, and the greens were "on point" according to my brother (I didn't taste them). I didn't have fresh mac n cheese because it was "early" so that was a bit disappointing, but it was cool. My brother also ordered shrimp n grits before and he liked it. I may go back. I would recommend trying it for sure.
