Family owned and operated, genuine owner (Luca) and bartender.
I was vising from California and I had to stop to try the spot after many testimonials from my local friends.
I will definitely visit again to try their other dishes and house wine.

Food was exceptional. I had the pesto gnocchi and I added grilled chicken for only $5. I was pleased with the serving size, plenty to share or have left overs. The only thing I didn’t love was the service. Our waitress was not very personable or friendly. Didn’t really say anything to us other than what was required to share their specials and take our order. Not even a how are you folks tonight or anything? Seemed like we were a bother to her, just kind of put a damper on the evening.

It was what it was trying to be. A pretty good Italian bar. We didn't have any pizza, and maybe that was why it was mid for us.  Everything was fine. We liked the appetizer the salad and the pasta was fine. Some of it seemed like it was not fresh, like it came out of a bag. The creme brulee was over cooked so that was a big disappointment.  Nothing to complain about but nothing to rave about.

First and foremost, the staff was very accommodating. I went on OpenTable to book a rez but was instructed you can only submit reservations online with the Scottsdale location.. However, you must call ahead with the Midtown location. So I showed up and learned this, and even as packed as they were, they found a way to accommodate us. I was very appreciative of that. The cuisine was devine. This was my first time, and Forno is simply now my favorite Italian restaurant in the valley. Wow. Alessio, I hope I'm spelling that correctly, was very exceptional. Hell of a waiter! His recommendations, prompt efficiency, and friendliness truly amplified our experience. The exposed ceiling, indoor/outdoor airflow, decor, and lighting really provide an urban, rustic, Italian PHX feel, off the open corner of Cental and McDowell. Their menu is arguably perfect. Simple yet strong culinary options that have you contemplating. Espresso to finish out. We'll be back.

This place has a simple menu, but the food is absolutely delicious! The prices are also really reasonable for the quality of the food. I highly recommend it to everyone. The staff is super friendly, the beer is cold, and the food is made to order. It’s a small restaurant, but mighty restaurant , it’s worth checking out!
