My husband surprised me for valentine day dinner here. Our reservation was at 9pm and didn’t get seated until about 25 minutes later. Given the day it was, I could  understand the challenges the restaurant was facing. The food was honestly the best part of the experience but everything else was coming apart at the seams. The staff seemed very overwhelmed. It took about 30 minutes in between each course, the first course was about 45mins to get. I could tell things were behind, even with the start of Valet. I commend everyone’s hard work tonight but I think management could have been better with controlling the flow of the busy night. I’m not saying this place wasn’t worth going too. It was. I just think tensions were really high for the evening and I could tell.

1 hour and 10 minute wait for taro chips to arrive at the table, poor table management. For the price, better service is expected. They are a "no tip restaurant" aka they charge 20% service fee tip automatically no matter what. Food was otherwise good.

This is a very beautiful place but food was very disappointing. On top of the fact that they could not serve us any dishes with lobster, the dishes we ordered lacked proper seasoning and didn’t taste yummy. Drinks were way better. Service is good but obviously not when they are packed. I really wish I could give them 5 stars but that’s not fair comparing my other reviews

Food was excellent and I loved the open kitchen to watch them preparing the food. The sweet potato and mushroom fried rice were delicious.

Vi gör många evenemang under ett år över hela landet och har gjort det i mer än 20 år. 

Servicen och den verkställande direktören i denna restaurang är inte i servicebranschen. Den värsta händelsen vi har gjort på åratal och övergripande brist på utbildning.

Bartendrarna skulle ha förberett några av drinkarna i förväg och passerat dem (vilket de så småningom gjorde) även jag fick frågan vad jag ville dricka av en server och såg aldrig en drink förrän en timme efter vårt evenemang började

Betjänad situation var helt oacceptabelt... ... vi förlorade många av våra gästers exempel e-post nedan, och sedan hade vi människor anländer efter att ha väntat 30 minuter riktigt upprörd. 

. General manager var bortom oförskämd och du kan berätta för personalen är inte glad att arbeta där. De är torally icke-lyhörda och chockerande de är fortfarande i verksamhet. Skulle inte rekommendera alls!

Hinoki & The Bird i Century City är inget annat än en total katastrof. Om du tycker om att slösa dina hårt intjänade pengar på minimala portioner, glömska rätter och likgiltig service, då är det här för all del din plats. Annars, håll dig undan. 

Vi åt här en lördagskväll, och restaurangen var chockerande tom — praktiskt taget en spökstad. Det borde ha varit vår första varning. Beläget i dyra fastigheter, Hinoki & The Bird tydligt bankar på sitt läge snarare än att leverera verkligt värde. Portionerna? Skrattretande liten. Maten? Överskattat och bisarrt, med udda smakkombinationer som fick oss att undra om någon i köket faktiskt smakade på dessa rätter innan de skickades ut. Vi beställde deras tre mest rekommenderade produkter, och alla smakade konstigt, obalanserat och oinspirerat. 

Gudstjänsten? Glacial och apatisk, trots att vi var en av bara en handfull matgäster. Hur en restaurang med ett så bra läge kan servera en sådan genomsnittlig, dyr mat med så dålig energi är bortom mig. 

Ärligt talat skulle jag ta en Big Mac måltid över denna pretentiösa bluff någon dag i veckan. McDonald’s håller i alla fall vad de lovar. Här betalar du en premie för privilegiet att lämna hungrig, frustrerad och känna sig helt lurad. 

Hinoki & The Bird är ett läroboksfodral om en plats som drivs med ångor, klamrar sig fast vid hype utan att leverera något av substansen. Det är svårt att föreställa sig denna plats kommer att hålla sig flytande mycket längre i denna takt. 

Gör dig själv en tjänst — undvik det. Du har blivit varnad.

Det finns restauranger som är ett nöje att besöka. Elementen är vanliga. Bra atmosfär, spännande natur, glitter och glamour och vänlig service. Dessa restauranger lämnar ett permanent märke på mig. Ja, jag kommer att minnas alla glitter och guldet. Men jag besöker dessa platser bara en eller två gånger högst. Du måste göra detsamma om du inte har besökt Hinoki och fågeln. Kolla in det.

Denna anläggning erbjuder asiatisk fusion. Det är bra men inte exceptionellt. Den svarta torsken är torsk av toppkvalitet men smältberedningen är smaklös. Det serveras i en kruka med mycket ömma champinjoner av god kvalitet som flyter i buljong. Det serveras utan en sked. När jag frågade efter en sked letar servitören efter en sked. Sök efter en sked i en restaurang? Hummerrulle är en missnomer ($ 22). 1. 5 msk hummer på en liten bit bröd. Oacceptabelt som en hummerrulle.
Skål, njut av ditt besök. Rekommenderas starkt för glitter.

Hinoki & fågeln är en riktig dold pärla i Century City, som är svår att hitta av en slump.
Atmosfären är riktigt trevlig och mysig, köket är fantastiskt! Jag älskade "hinoki scented black code". Definitivt ett måste - upplevelse i LA! !

Recensioner ger ofta synpunkter på dålig service så varför lyssnar inte denna restaurang - speciellt med en obligatorisk serviceavgift på 20%? Mycket långsam, tittade på drycker vatten i baren och vår servitör och bartendern och annan personal ignorerar, staplade upp tallrikar på bordet för att clue att de borde tas bort. Var tvungen att flagga servitören för att beställa en annan drink. Inga servering skedar med tallrikar men de är avsedda att delas! Inget kaffe eller efter middagsdrink som erbjuds, servitören zoome bort efter att ha tagit vår order på dessert. En förklaring av menyn i början skulle ha varit bra. "Lägg till stärkelse från sidrätterna för att fylla upp" var inte till hjälp. Va? Restaurangen var inte full. Restaurangchefen måste gå tillbaka till gästfrihetskolan. Synd eftersom maten var mycket bra. Kommer inte att gå tillbaka. Från andra recensioner var det inte bara en dålig natt.

Restaurangnamnet var definitivt catchy. Inredningen levde upp till varumärket - väggarna var förmodligen byggda med hinoki träpaneler. Verkligen funky plats.

Menyn gjorde oss salivate med alternativen, men vad vi beställde var bara ok:
 - Kale sallad
 - dungeness krabba dumplings (vi antog att de skulle vara i en buljong men var pan stekt)
 - Hinoki scented svart torsk (de tog inte oss någon sked för att njuta av buljongen)
 - maitake svamp sidorätter var på torr och intetsägande sida
 - Sashimi provsmakning av fem skedar var lite nedslående. Någon släppte det bara vid vårt bord och gick bort utan att störa oss vad vi skulle smaka i varje sked. Vi fick reda på att de var samma fisk gjort på fem sätt, vilket är bra men vi tolkade det båda som kanske fem olika typer av sashimi.
 - Jag såg fram emot honung mochi jag beställde till efterrätt eftersom jag inte ofta ser det på menyer. Det hade glass inuti (som inte nämndes på menyn) och ganska fryst. Så jag var tvungen att krossa för att få sked av det.

Höjdpunkten på natten? Deras mango (jag glömde om det var mango) och lychee sorbet var enastående. Mycket uppfriskande och full av smak.

Det var en bra restaurang, men jag tror inte att jag skulle återvända om det bara var att släppa för lite efterrätt. Också för att det var i ett mer affärsdistrikt stängde det tidigare än förväntat.

Besviken överväger hur trevligt restaurangen ser ut, men mycket av maten är oexceptional. Jag kan se varför folk betygsätter det en enda stjärna men det skulle vara lite orättvist enligt min mening. Jag gick med en grupp människor till middag här på en torsdagskväll i april, och vi delade flera rätter.

Saker jag gillade: Atmosfären är bra, som en modern influerad men ändå avslappnad exklusiv restaurang i Hawaii. När det gäller mat var Romanesco (bra struktur), yams och fläskkotletter (fuktig och öm) enastående. Roast duck och hummer roll (serveras på mörkt bröd) var mycket bra. Tjänsten var anständigt. Servitören var vänlig och allmänt var personalen uppmärksam på våra behov.

Saker jag inte tyckte: Uni baguette var hemskt (uni var inte fräsch). Kale sallad, krabba dumplings, svart torsk och hälleflundra var alla oexceptional. Inte illa, men det fanns ingenting om dessa rätter som gjorde att smaken eller texturen sticker ut. Och stående ut är något jag skulle ha förväntat mig på en restaurang som denna. Min fru tyckte inte att det fanns inget bröd som gavs ut. En sak vi satt vid ett bord på kanten av utomhusområdet. I överensstämmelse med temat Stillehavsöarna verkade väggbänkarna vara överskridande tortyrenheter från krigsspåren. Sätena var för svåra.

Sammantaget skulle jag ha förväntat mig mer med tanke på de angivna priserna.

Detta är en utmärkt hitta. Galet blandning av Kalifornien och Japan och det fungerar otroligt bra. Mycket cool atmosfär, utmärkt mat och service. Jeremy vår servitör kunde inte ha varit något bättre!

Middag på Hinoki och den Bird är en intressant blandning av amerikanska och japanska - stil rätter. Det finns en mycket bred urval av mat, från bison till lax i en mycket intressant meny. Vi hade ett urval av flera rätter, gillar krispiga kyckling, hanami rostat bröd, mison lax, dungenese krabba stekt ris och brysselkål. The wine urval var utmärkt och så var servicen. Vårt bord för att se till att vi var flera av personalen närmade sig väl serverade. På det hela taget var det en mycket bra upplevelse.

Det duger. Kanske även en lite bättre än bra. Men för den priser de tar betalt, " bra " är inte riktigt bra nog. Den betjänade området är också ganska förvirrande och den parkeringsvakterna måste parkera i neförsbacken är dicks om det. De var när jag var där.

Såg detta efter ett Facebook-viralt videotest - på hummer ramen-inspirerade, medan det var gott det var en mycket mycket liten del för det pris du betalar.

Alla de mat här att jag försökte var tyvärr mycket små portioner och på mycket hög priser.

Det är synd att säga detta motsvarade inte upp till hypen alls.

Elegant -talet City resmål med en kreativ blandning av kalifornisk och japanska rätter. Trevliga människor, utmärkta cocktails och uppmärksam service men det till en få av en little högljudda ibland.

Det finns en tendens att göra vinbarer, barer och restauranger uteslutande svårt att hitta. Hanoki är en fall i punkt. Det är gömd på en liten gata vid sidan av allfartsvägarna, men vi tyckte det på första försök.

Det är en stora restaurang och ganska populär med "Jag är 30 något, och du bör vara imponerad av att jag kan beställa dyra grejer".

För exempel, vinet lista. Våra servitris som var lite snorkig frågade om vi skulle vilja se den sommelier. Jag frågade henne att låta mig leta över listan först. Listan stod "oerhört enorm" med många flaskor prissatt i 3 siffror.
