I usually go to Alfred in Melrose or in Rodeo Dr in Beverly Hills. This is my least favorite one despite the nice location setting with boardwalk in Marina Del Ray. Not only that they often spell my simple name in the most creative (incorrect) way may be because of the hearing issues, music was too loud, or intentionally for whatever other reasons, but also the menu questions are not answered in a helpful way at all. At times, I wanted to try different drinks but it does not seem like asking questions may be a good option here. Unless you are in the area for something else, I would recommend trying Alfred in other locations instead. For a fairly good coffee, it’s certainly not the most pleasant service that keeps up with this beautiful location which is really sad. Also for those who interact with customers, it may be a good idea start listening out more carefully.

Nice place to stop for a coffee. Decent cold brew and lavender latte. Nothing spectacular. Interesting decor provides something to look at while you wait. Atmosphere enhanced by the marina view outdoors.

I ordered an iced matcha latte with oat milk and a pump of vanilla syrup. It was not mixed at all and the pump of vanilla syrup was just sitting at the bottom. It was so full I couldn’t mix it up myself.

Prepare to WAIT… and WAIT… and WAIT. Was greeted by superficial politeness by an entitled millennial clerk who proceeded to “upsale” me to a signature dipping sauce for my bacon breakfast burrito. 20 minutes later I have to ask where my food was. “Oh sorry, we are having a problem getting/making the sauce you ordered”. I then said “at this point, whatever sauce you have is fine, I’m just hungry” . Five minutes later I get a small burrito with white crème sauce that I pair almost $17 for and a sauce I didn’t really want.

Food tasted okay, but definitely not worth the wait or upsale for something I did not receive. And of course, this was one of those places that kindly ask you for gratuity BEFORE the service so they got me there too. Goodness helll people, where did all the service go??
