This place was amazing! The food was phenomenon: Some of the highlights were the Surprise Egg dish which was super creative and delicious and the Squab! The wine paring was super creative and went super well with the food! The service was also amazing! Our service, who is also the general manager, Mariana was super polite and made our experience even better. I would definitely recommend this place!

Honestly a perfect tasting menu. Inventive, interesting, immaculate. Service was perfection, wine tasting blew us away. We have done many a tasting menu and this one is difficult to improve upon. Each course was thoughtful and tasty without being overdone. The higher end wine tasting was entirely worth it. Highly recommend.

Phenomenal northern Italian restaurant that deserves Michelin praise.  They serve a four-course $99 tasting menu from Tuesday-Thursday in addition to the 8-course $159 Signature or $139 Vegetarian menu offered every night.  In addition to the tasting we also had a $99 tasting that included champagne, a really exceptional Sauvignon Blanc (a varietal which I’d previously always hated), a nice solid Barolo, finished with a desert wine.

Food was out of this world -up there with some of the very best meals I’ve ever had.  Probably more so on par with Addison than anything else in San Diego.  Considering the pricing, this is a steal and we were surprised the restaurant wasn’t more fully packed.  Fare included an egg-caramel amuse bouche, beautifully buttery and meaty Hokkaido scallops, squab, and a desert medley.

Service was fantastic with an exquisitely detailed breakdown of every course and wine. They reach out beforehand to ensure you have the very best experience and will strive to customize your experience whether it be a custom children’s menu, new dishes for repeat customers (menu changes every season), or any dietary needs.

Well worth a trip to taste this delicious fare!

My partner and I went for a birthday dinner at Ambrogio this last Saturday and had such an amazing time. We sat at the chef's table and couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Our evening started with the fantastic Mariana welcoming us, showing us to the table, and getting us acquainted with the menus and our first drinks. The Mistaken Negroni and The Ambrogio Spritz started us off (for those that like a great balance and not too sweet, these were great choices) and we both enjoyed the wine pairings through the night.

The service throughout was on point, we never wanted for food or beverage through the three and a half hour experience and found it easy to talk with the team between services.

Each plate we had was refined and delectable, really showcasing Italian ingredients with French and Asian precision. Chef Sintoni came out for every plate and explained all the ingredients and preparation (except the surprise omelet which was such a fun experience). Chef's love of food, and his work, was very apparent in the way he described the meal and helped answer our questions about the ingredients.

Through all eight courses, we found the portioning to be perfect and the wines balanced just right so as to never overpower the dish it was paired with.

We finished up with a birthday sweet and a final conversation with the team.

I would highly recommend this for those that are looking for a special experience, one similar to having a Michelin star meal right in your own living room.
