Expected a lot more from a three star Michelin star restaurant. Service was ok , no attention was paid to the guests. Went to celebrate my sister’s birthday, we had been looking forward to it , one server looked hung over and words he was saying made no sense . Went came home with very different menus than what we were served ( we had vegetarian menus) . Food itself was good , presentation was great.
The desert menu can be a lot better .
Overall it was a one and done experience, not a want to come back again one .

Intimate yet chilly (feeling the draft from the door), and the food was mostly spectacular. Some nice touches like the purse stool, and setting the table for my leftie husband. Difficult to understand some of the servers' English. Lack of communication about our dietary preferences between food and beverage staff (we had requested no green tea, which was then in the nonalcoholic pairing drinks). The smoked cabbage (vegetarian menu) was unforgettably delicious! Overall a memorable experience, with room for improvement. Four stars instead of five, since expectations and price were so high.

Experienced Michelin diner here. Booked a 2.5-hour flight on my birthday specifically to go here and left very disappointed. They spelled my name wrong on the personalized card--attention to detail lacking. The acoustics of the dining room were painful and I couldn't hear the waiters speak. The courses were unsatisfying, calorically empty, and overemphasized tart and sour flavors. There was little flavor or textural variance between them. I was so, so, so hungry for the lack of dairy and cream that I ordered fries in my hotel room after we left. Crenn wasn't there and I did not get to meet her. The kitchen tour was nice but they rushed us through. The best courses were by far the dessert spread (not done by Crenn), and I do not have a sweet tooth at all. Dehydrated and rehydrated beets do not taste good and do not provide any calories. I got the second most expensive wine pairing, and staff did not offer to replace the opening champagne that I did not like and barely took one sip of.
The rest of the wines were good but not blow-your-mind, $545 good.
The joke about such meals is that you pay hundreds to thousands of dollars to leave hungry. That's never happened to me in my decade+ of enjoying this hobby until last night. I left hungry, unsatisfied, and without having eaten anything memorable.

I have been to a handful of 3-Michelin-star places around the world, and Atelier Crenn has some of the most creative uses of ingredients and flavors. The balance between vegetarian and non vegetarian  dishes is perfect for me. The meal is light, refreshing, yet I am full and extremely pleased at the end of it.
Update: I came back for another dinner this year, and chef Crenn definitely stepped up her game with the amazing new menu. Best from the menu are the spiny lobster, dry aged tuna, and french onion soup.
