I visited Tony’s Pizza Napoletana on December 31, 2024, excited to experience the food from this renowned, award-winning pizzeria. As expected, the restaurant was packed, and I waited over 100 minutes for a table. While the long wait was frustrating, I remained optimistic, hoping the food would be worth the hype. Once seated, I ordered the Caesar salad, Buffalo wings, and fries as appetizers, followed by one of their signature pizzas. The appetizers were outstanding—each dish was bursting with flavor. The Caesar salad was fresh and well-balanced, the Buffalo wings had just the right amount of heat and tang, and the fries were perfectly crispy. These dishes set the bar high and were the highlight of my meal.

The pizza, while good, fell short of my expectations. The crust was well-prepared, with a nice char and chewiness, and the toppings were fresh and thoughtfully combined. However, I honestly couldn’t pinpoint what made it award-worthy. It was a solid pizza, but I didn’t find it extraordinary or unique compared to other high-quality pizzerias I’ve visited. While I wouldn’t discourage anyone from trying it, I didn’t feel it lived up to the hype surrounding its accolades.

Unfortunately, the biggest drawback of my visit was the service, which was shockingly poor for a restaurant of this caliber. Our server was visibly impatient and unprofessional throughout the evening. She rarely checked on our table, and when she did, her tone and body language made it clear that she was annoyed. At one point, I politely asked for extra napkins, and instead of responding, she simply walked away without a word, leaving me wondering if she intended to fulfill the request at all. Such behavior is unacceptable in any restaurant, let alone one with such a prestigious reputation.

While the food itself was enjoyable and the appetizers were exceptional, the lack of customer service left a sour taste in my mouth. A dining experience is about more than just the food—it’s about the atmosphere, the service, and how the restaurant makes its guests feel. In this case, the poor service significantly detracted from what could have been an amazing meal. For anyone planning to visit, I recommend going in with tempered expectations and plenty of patience for both the wait time and potentially lackluster service.

I had an amazing experience at Tony’s Pizza! The food was excellent—everything from the pizza to the breadsticks was on point. The breadsticks were especially memorable, loaded with extra garlic, which was a nice touch. What really stood out, though, was the incredible service. The waitresses were all super friendly, and I had about four different ones stop by and chat with us throughout the meal. It was such a nice, personal touch, and they even shared some interesting history about the restaurant. I’ve been waiting to try Tony’s for a while, and it definitely lived up to the hype. For the best experience, I’d recommend coming between 2 PM and 4 PM. I’ll definitely be back!

My husband and I were recently within a weeks time was told about this place. We checked out the reviews and thought we had to try it. Went on a morning hike and stopped by opening(12pm).
While there was already a line we got in and got the best seat in the house. We sat right in front of the pizza oven. We got to see the pizza being made by the cooks Mario and Cesar.

We ordered the margarita which we were told by some regulars while in line to try and it so happened to be an award winning pizza. It was GREAT 👍

Service was great, I feel Cesar and Mario were amazing where they answered all our questions while they were at work and were so friendly. The pizza they made for us was delicious too, finished all of it. If they are not the cooks that are cooking at these competitions I think they should definitely be the next ones to go.

Overall my husband and I had a good experience and would recommend to all our friends and family to stop by when in San Francisco to get a bite to eat.

YES it's worth the line and wait! On a Friday night we had to wait maybe and hour and a half for a table for 5. Which wasn't too bad as we were able to join the Yelp waitlist remotely and wait for a text to let us know when to check in with the staff.

Our party went with three pies and an appetizer. The calamari was lightly battered and so crispy! Coming in a good portion we all had a health portion. Our server recommend we do the half an half and the buffalo was spicy!

We got the New Yorker which was so thin and crispy and came loaded with meat. Although I would say I tad too much for my liking. But the crust is perfection! The squash blossom and margarita pies were both delicious but not as crispy as the New Yorker!

Will be back to try other styles of pizza!

Det här är en turistfälla. 30 dollars pizza smakar skit. Jag vet inte ens hur det kokade på fem minuter. Jag fick en Margherita pizza; lite röd sås ett par prickar mozzarella och ca sju bitar basilika. 30 dollar rent skräp och låt inte bartendern charma dig eftersom han är charmig. Drinken var god. Pizzan inte! ta en drink, säg hej till bartendern, Revelle och stick därifrån och gå över Mona Lisa och få en ordentlig måltid.

Jag var på en soloresa och hamnade i baren på Tonys pizzeria. Låt mig säga hur lycklig Tonys pizzeria är som har Pascale C. Från det ögonblick jag satte mig, gjorde han min upplevelse bara minnesvärd och jag var så glad när jag lämnade. Han var så uppmärksam på de andra människorna omkring mig också. Vilken pärla! Varje besök har varit minnesvärt. Bra sällskap gör bra mat ännu bättre, och Tony’s levererar på båda. Det mesta vi har provat har varit utmärkt, med bara ett par som inte var min personliga stil, men aldrig en dålig upplevelse. 

Vad vi har njutit av hittills (över några besök): 
	•	Caesar Sallad: Alltid ett måste att börja. Skarp, fräsch och pålitlig. 
	•	Köttbullegiganten: Jag beställer alltid versionen med vild svampsås. Den är så bra att jag vill jobba här bara för att lära mig att göra den själv. 
	•	Mormor slaktaren: Väldigt populärt med bordet, även om jag tyckte det var för sött. En rejäl rektangulär paj med kött, ost och örter. 
	•	Cal Italia: Prosciutto, söta fikon och balsamico duggregn. Prisbelönt och älskad av gruppen, men personligen föredrar jag mindre sötma på pizza. 
	•	New Yorker: Min personliga favorit och alltid ett måste beställning. Ett ord: utsökt. 
	•	Margherita: Rent, enkelt och en del av min vanliga rotation när jag vill ha något klassiskt. 
	•	Burratina Di Margherita: En rektangulär siciliansk pizza med pesto istället för tomatsås. Annorlunda och roligt. 
	•	Brödpudding: Hus gjort med vaniljglass. En publikfavorit och det perfekta sättet att avsluta en måltid. 
	•	Tiramisu: Lätt, krämig och oemotståndlig. Jag kan lätt ta med lite. 
	•	Cannoli: Från heliga Cannoli. Färsk med ett flagigt skal. Jag gillar det mycket, men brödpuddingen och tiramisu vinner förstaplatsen för mig. 

Personalen förtjänar särskilt omnämnande. Varenda person vi har träffat har varit upprymd, vänlig och tydligt passionerad för pizza. Från värd till busser, får hela teamet dig att känna dig välkommen. Den som anställer gör ett enastående jobb.

Helt utsökt med de färskaste av ingredienser. Lysande Service. Vibey Little Italy atmosfär. Åt inte IT och wait om det finns en väntan... det är värt det.

Tony's är en mycket känd pizzeria - i själva verket ser jag det som ett landmärke i North Beach-området. Det är en mycket upptagen restaurang. Vi beställde deras bästsäljande Pizza - New Yorker. Det var ok men inget speciellt. Pizzasåsen var för söt för vår smak. Korven kom från en länk. Vi är vana att laga Italienska korvar på vår pizza. 

Trots att det var extremt upptaget gjorde vår servitris ett utmärkt jobb. Hon var uppmärksam, effektiv och serverade oss med ett leende.

Pizzan är ganska god, men det är inte extraordinärt. Och det är väldigt dyrt. Lokalbefolkningen älskar det. De har en mängd olika stilar. Ingen är äkta napolitansk.

Låt inte väntan avskräcka dig, det är för att Tonys pizza är så god! Vi åt här två gånger under vår 4 dagars besök i San Francisco. Den bästa pizza och köttbullar och en fantastisk atmosfär.

Bara medelmåttig. Bra. Service. Staff. Allt bara medelmåttigt. Spara pengar och tid och gå någon annanstans. 
Vi fyllde i begäran om ledningstråd men fick aldrig ett sms. Vi satt ute i solen och ingen kom på evigheter. Vi bad att flyttas in i skuggan och först efter tredje gången vi frågade flyttades vi. Till ett bord bredvid toaletterna. Vår förrätt och varmrätt anlände tillsammans. Ingen kollade våra måltider förrän vi hade ätit klart. Det är ett nej från oss.

Denna restaurang är en fantastisk fynd. Personalen var vänlig, uppmärksam, atmosfären var avslappnad och inbjudande. Maten var fantastisk! Spagettin och margarita pizzan var utsökt och mycket autentisk! Kärlek, kärlek, älskade det!

Vi satt inne utan reservation för lunch, vi hade en utmärkt mumsig pizza och ännu bättre service! Definitivt ett måste - stanna på din San Fran semester!

Denna plats är stor! Pizzorna är utsökta - smakar fräscht och vällagat. 
Vi blev något överväldigade av valet men servern var så hjälpsam och vi fick en pizza som passade vad vi ville. 
Miljön var trevlig. 
Goda drinkar.

Wow, fantastisk mat, vin och ute läge att sitta & titta på världen gå förbi. Vi beställde en flaska vitt vin och det köptes ut i en ishink vilket var trevligt. Vi beställde Gotham-pizzan och den var enorm, men vi klarade det mesta, fick några skivor kvar att gå. Som vi åt senare i vårt rum. Personalen var vänlig och effektiv. Rekommenderar starkt.
