What better way of spending a Saturday afternoon than getting access to the number one breakfast burrito spot in DC. I’ve heard about La Tejana through different networks on social media. We got there around 11:30am and waited about 45 minutes until we placed our order. The order came out relatively quick, which was nice. It’s a cool little spot and a neighborhood gem. They are open from 7:30 AM to 1 PM and then they open again at 5 PM. They have a very friendly staff and the quality of their food is top tier. My friend and I sat upstairs, which had plenty of seating. I ended up getting four tacos and it was the perfect amount of food for me. My favorite was the 512. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like they do pick up orders. The restaurant has been open for about two years now and every weekend the line is out the door as you can see in the images. Looking forward to getting a chance to go back it’s probably less busier early in the morning.

100/10 recommend visiting the bar at La Tejana for fabulous food & cocktails.  The next morning if you need to revive yourself, hit up their breakfast service to grab a caffeinated beverage & the best breakfast tacos around.

The cocktails were are perfection but the LT Fizz is my new favorite drink in DC.  Toasted coconut cream??!! To die for!

The chips & queso topped with smoked brisket and guac are a must-have for the table. Don’t sleep on the quesadilla.

Delicious tacos! Highly recommend going on a week day because weekends have insanely long lines. Tacos are made super quickly which is great!

@latejanadc you have a special place in my heart. Our Saturday morning “thing” for some of the most authentic tacos in the city. While I’ve been more times than I can count, not sure why I’m *just* putting this up.

If you haven’t been yet, the wait is ALWAYS worth it! Shoutout to the staff too because they are always friendly and always get us right!

Great Breakfast Taco!

Visited this place on a Saturday around 11:30 AM. There was a line and we waited about 25 minutes before ordering. Once we ordered, we got the Tacos relatively fast ~5 minutes.

I like that the menu is not too broad. These are breakfast tacos, all of them with a soft flour tortilla. They serve 8 different Tacos. I did not know if the tacos were big and I was hungry so I went big and ordered 6. In the end I was able to eat just 4 of them.

I think the salsa is something they can improve. I am not fan of the creamy salsas so the cilantro was meh. The charred tomato was just OK.

If I come back I would do just 3 and it has to be: 956, Tio Willie and 513.
