Had a really enjoyable experience dining at the bar. The atmosphere and vibes are wonderful. The food was so good! I’d love to come back so I could try other dishes on their menu! We ordered the crab noodle dish that was delicious and my guava drink was also very refreshing. Forgot to take photos of those. The grilled seafood platter was cooked perfectly! Excited to come back!

Shared the meat platter between two people and it was plenty! The shrimp spring rolls had a mushy filling but still tasted good. The best meat on the platter had to be the lemongrass beef, which was so tender and perfectly seasoned. Oysters looked good but the taste was ok—I think the scallion/garlic oil took over the taste of the oysters. Chicken wings were ok, a little too much fish sauce, needed an acid to balance it more. We came here with vegans too so they had a quite a few dishes they could try.

The service was good, nothing outstanding. Main courses took a while to come out but the server made up for it at the end with free dessert.

I visited HaiSous Vietnamese Kitchen for brunch with high expectations given its strong reviews and appealing Vietnamese décor. Unfortunately, the experience didn't fully live up to the hype. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and the staff was attentive, which made for a welcoming atmosphere. The presentation of the food was also impressive, showcasing care and detail.

However, the taste of the dishes was inconsistent. Some items hit the mark, delivering the vibrant flavors I was hoping for, while others missed, leaving me wishing for more depth and balance. This inconsistency made the meal somewhat disappointing, especially considering the prices, which I found to be on the higher side for what was offered.

In summary, while HaiSous has a lot going for it in terms of atmosphere and food presentation, the overall dining experience was a bit of a letdown. I wanted to love everything on the table, but it ended up being a mixed bag.

Hubby and I stopped in during happy hour and took a seat at the cozy bar. The restaurant is beautifully designed with incredible wood accents. The staff is wonderfully friendly, and the service was excellent.
We shared the crispy calamari, which sat on a sweet and spicy tamarind sauce. It was incredibly delicious, with the sauce providing an amazing tang and just the right amount of heat.
We also shared the chicken wings brushed with caramelized fish sauce and chili. These were hands down the best chicken wings I have ever eaten—crispy and incredibly flavorful.
For drinks, hubby ordered a Pilsner, and I opted for a cocktail called Cheap Thrills, made with Beefeater Gin, cucumber juice, coconut soda, and lemon. It was a tart and refreshing cocktail.
We will absolutely be back again to enjoy more of this fantastic menu.

Loved dinner at HaiSous, I enjoyed every dish. Highlights were the wings and green beans, they were so good. The rice and noodles were great too! Everything was flavorful, and cooked well. Portions were good too, there were leftovers. Drinks were interested and tasty as well. Overall I recommend and will definitely be back

Vi besökte med familj och lite visste vi att vi var inne för så många smakfulla överraskningar på Haisous! Varenda tugga var förtjusande. Vi jobbade oss igenom salladen, en förrätt, en curry och en förrätt. Servicen var utmärkt!

Åkte middag en lördagkväll med vänner. Hade tidigare besökt och hade underbara upplevelser. 

Tyvärr verkar restaurangen verkligen ha minskat. Servicen, i synnerhet, var dålig. Vårt bord var nära baren (vi hade reserverat veckor i förväg) och verkade serveras av bartenders. Bartendrarna var mestadels involverade i att göra drinkar och därmed frånvarande från bordet. 

Drycker tog evigheter att servera. Måltiden var dåligt tempo. Trots att servern sa att han skulle "kursa ut" det vi beställde att dela, kom maten i en absolut torrent, och därmed blev det kallt. 

Vi väntade i evigheter på checken, och ingen tittade till oss. 

Maten var bra, men hade glidit sedan ett tidigare besök. I synnerhet var en curry nästan oätligt söt, och dess konsistens var långt borta. 

En besvikelse.

Den här restaurangen fick höga betyg bland flera Chicago topp restauranglistor. Vi beställde avsmakningsmenyn för två. Fiskkakorna var mattgrå, mestadels ägg, och smaksattes av endast nuc mam. Riskexet var väldigt intetsägande och smaklöst. Huvudrätten bestod av hel fisk och fläskmage. Fläskmagen var söt, om du inte träffade en smakknöl, då var den kryddig. Det fanns inget giftermål av smaker. Fisken marknadsfördes som urbenad men det var den inte. Efterrätten var genomsnittlig. Vitvinet serverades varmt och rödvinet serverades kallt. Det fanns ingen komplexitet eller djup i smakerna i någon av rätterna. Vi bodde i Houston i 10 år och har mycket erfarenhet av vietnamesiskt kök, och det är inte det. Vår kväll var inte på något sätt värt tid, pengar eller resa. James Beard-folket borde leta någon annanstans.

Vi valde denna restaurang, på grund av närheten till Thalia plats. Inte visste vi att vi skulle få så många smakfulla överraskningar! Allt, och jag menar varje tugga var förtjusande. Vi jobbade oss igenom en sallad, en förrätt, en curry och en förrätt. Slutsats: du kan inte gå fel oavsett vad du beställer. Männen drack te i mitt liv. Jag hade en specialcocktail... som också skulle smuttas på och avnjutas fullt ut. Servicen var utmärkt!

Detta var en fantastisk upptäckt. Maten var helt utsökt, smakerna makalösa och servicen, välkomnande. Jag kommer säkert att komma tillbaka under en framtida resa till Chicago. Jag rekommenderar varmt denna härliga restaurang.

Utmärkt vietnamesisk mat - otroliga smaker. Höjdpunkter - vingarna, krabbstekt ris, grillad aubergine. Skippa grönsakscurryn. Stekt fisk och stort skaldjurstorn var bra men för litet för priset. Servicen var utmärkt. Obs oarking är utmanande så kom dit tidigt.

Wow. Jag älskar HaiSous. Jag har varit tre gånger de senaste månaderna. Under varje besök har restaurangen imponerat med sin fantastiska mat, spännande cocktails och utmärkt service. Det är definitivt en favoritplats i Chicago (och du borde förresten koppla ihop ditt besök med en utforskning av Pilsen, grannskapet där HaiSous ligger - - det finns fantastiska lokala företag och bra gatukonst).

Utrymmet är välkomnande och livligt. Tabellerna är ganska nära varandra och det är högt, men inte så högt att det är obehagligt. Det känns väldigt avslappnat och ändå samtida; dekoren gynnar köket.

Tjänsten har varit utmärkt vid varje besök, med servrar som är kunniga om menyn och gärna rekommendera vad du ska beställa. På alla utom vårt tredje besök har kursen på gång varit på plats (vid vårt tredje besök kom lite för många saker ut på en gång).

Maten är stjärnan. Det är helt fantastiskt modernt vietnamesiskt, som exploderar med smak. Det är mat som fyller dig, överraskar dig och får dig att le! Favoriter har inkluderat papayasallad (med chockerande läckra tofu ryckiga), kycklingvingar (klibbig men värt det), fläsk från Hanoi-stil, skaldjur i kokosnötbuljong och vegetarisk vietnamesisk curry. Det är också ett bra ställe att gå med en grupp; delarna är tillräckligt stora för att enkelt kunna dela, och menyn hade ett stort utbud av rätter med nötkött & fläsk, skaldjur och vegetariska alternativ.

Enastående - - definitivt ett kulinariskt äventyr i Chicago som du borde ha!

Vår grupp hade turen att ha en kuraterad meny och den gjorde inte besviken. Som någon som hade begränsad exponering för vietnamesisk mat uppskattade jag förklaringarna om vad varje kurs var, inklusive hur man äter den.
Avslappnad, ren atmosfär och utmärkt service för en mycket positiv upplevelse.

Det har varit mycket hype över denna restaurang och det är alla förtjänade. Allt vi hade var läckra och färska. . . och så kreativ. Bör vara högst upp på någons lista för en Chicago middag.

Perfekt service. Jag ätit här med en grupp på fyra för en affärsmiddag. Vi gjorde provsmakningsmenyn. Det var otroligt. Tjänsten är bra. De rensar plattorna mellan varje kurs och de är så uppmärksamma. De beskriver varje portion mycket snyggt. Jag gillade speciellt curryen, muslingen förrätt, frukt till dessert, allt var bara otroligt. De har också en mängd intressanta cocktails. Jag rekommenderar denna restaurang

Jag gick med en lokal vän som hade velat prova den här platsen. Vi älskade vingarna, papayasallad och ribeye. Musslor var lite intetsägande liksom det stekt ris som vår servitör rekommenderade att följa med dem. Andra än att vi hade en bra måltid. Tjänsten var vänlig och vi var inte rusade, vilket var trevligt eftersom vi fångade upp. Alternativ för dryck också.

Min dotter som går på college i Chicago valde HaiSous för att fira sin 21-åriga födelsedag med besökande familj & vänner. Jag visste när jag tittade över menyn att jag skulle älska denna plats. Allt var läckert. Mina favoriter är fluke och musslor i kokosnötbuljong och vi har också haft cocktails. Vår servitör Josh var glasyren på kakan! Som första tidtagare till denna restaurang hade vår grupp många frågor. Han var mycket kunnig på menyn, tog sin tid med oss och hans rekommendationer var plats på. Jag kommer att vara i Chicago i oktober och planerar att besöka HaiSous igen!

Kom till lördagbrunch när de öppnade och det var väldigt tyst. Parkering på gatorna är snäv. Endast betjänad servicenätter. Maten är utmärkt. Ris crepes var inte fuktig eller fet. Congee platsen på. Lämna rum för efterrätt. Kokosnötbulle och lychee danska riktigt bra.

HaiSous är en stor vietnamesisk restaurang. Från den vackra matsalen, till den stora servicen från Hanah vår server, till menyalternativen för livsmedelskvaliteten, är det här ett bra ställe att äta. Vår familj alla hade ett annat menyalternativ och alla var bäst. Från brunch sandwich, till bläckfisk, till räkorna och slutligen en beefand nudelrätt var alla stora provsmakning och mycket fyllning. Vår server gav utmärkt information före beställning och var extremt effektiv under hela vår middag. Om är Pilsen-delen av Chicago ta sig tid att prova denna restaurang, bäst.

Rätterna var så väl presenterade, väl kokta och helt unika och läckra. Tjänsten är också mycket bra.
