We visited Itoko for my wife’s birthday. No doubt for their food and taste. Only one single fine Japanese restaurant that has unique ideas for food preparation.
If you are aware of some kicks in each food, you will enjoy them even more. Both Brenna and kitchen crews did their best to make our day happier. Huge thanks and we will be back asap.

We decided to let the server and the chef choose for us and we had numerous incredible dishes. Our least favorite were the taco like items at the very end of our meal but we started off with a bang with one of our favorite dishes of the night.  I can’t tell you what I had but with all of the courses, one cocktail for two of us, one beer for one of us, and tea for the fourth person, dinner, with tip was about $800.  Not cheap but definitely a culinary experience and adventure we will not soon forget.

Spent $100 per person and ordered 12 different dishes, yet the only ones that lived up to the price and reviews were the uni sushi and TCD Tuna. Can’t believe I had the worst rice ever at a Japanese restaurant—cold, dry, and utterly disappointing. Isn’t a 4.8-star restaurant supposed to serve rice that’s plump and perfectly cooked? Both the hand rolls and sushi were ruined by the terrible rice. The desserts were decent, though. Honestly, Itoko, you should just open a Japanese dessert shop and stop wasting your reputation on the rest. This is a one-and-done place for me—never coming back.

Made reservations for a Saturday night and im glad i did because the place was packed ! It’s a cute restaurant, carefully laid out and designed that makes for a lovely atmosphere. It being so small, it was full and the place was pretty loud. We started with the Shishito peppers - A light snacking appetizer, the black garlic on them paired nicely with the mild spice to the peppers (be warned they are very sticky!). We also got the bluefin tuna - I was blown away at the sheer quality of the fish. I have never had such a buttery, smooth piece of tuna and the ginger/apple contradiction made it that much better. We then got the three piece set of the temaki hand rolls - momo jr was my favorite of the 3 but all 3 were great. i loved the avocado mousse that came on the shio koji. We then got 2 pieces of nigiri to try - the uni (sea urchin) and seared japanese mackerel. The uni was soft and savory, i’d get it again. the japanese mackerel was very fishy, it reminded me of tinned fish. i probably wouldn’t order it again, although that’s more a testament of the taste of mackerel than the way it was served. the cuts of the fish were average in size. For entrees, we got the chicken katsu and beef chahan. The chicken katsu was what you’d expect - the chicken cutlets had a nice crust and the chicken was juicy. The carrot daikon slaw was okay but lacked flavor. The dish had a bit more rice than i’d like as well. The beef chahan on the other hand was fantastic. it’s served table side in a really hot bowl and they mix the dish up in front of you. It was so fresh, flavorful and the beef was high quality. Both dishes were a one person serving for the most part but if you get other stuff, you could split them with someone. Our waitress was friendly, and attentive to our table. The place is on the pricier side, and the food portions are a bit smaller. The ingredientes were fresh and the dishes are interesting and I think this place is worth a shot!

My second time eating here and I know I'll be back, the food is consistently good, pretty easy to get a reservation, the service is attentive, and it has all my Momotaro favorites! The Beef chahan and Shaken Chicken Wings is a must, I love their scallop crudo, A5 roll, and 3 set is fun way for the table to try different things. I appreciate a good seasonal menu, and theirs are always so good I wish they would add it to the regular menu, especially enjoyed the Yuki Maki with fried ebi and hamachi crudo.
