Everything we tried was absolutely delicious! All of the moles were great and the flavors were so unlike the ones I've tried at other Mexican restaurants. The drinks were also so impressive (especially the margaritas)! All in all, a great place to spend a Friday night!

Mi Tocaya has been on my list for a long time, and I can't believe I waited this long. Homey and lively ambience and one of the best meals I've had in Chicago in a while. For the affordable price and the exceptional experience, I would highly recommend this to anyone.

Everything we got was either really good or great, but the steak burrito was the consensus star of the show for our table - probably one of the best burritos I've ever had. If you are contemplating getting it, GET IT, you won't regret it.

The chicken, fish, and octopus all were excellent as well. For dessert, we got the Tres Leches cake and it had a perfect texture and balance of flavors.

Between 4 of us we enjoyed everything we drank from a wide selection of cocktails and mocktails, you can't go wrong with the beverage menu.

There’s a lot of thoughtful things to say about the way Mi Tocaya highlights lesser known Aztec cuisine and more indigenous flavors & ingredient preparations into the modern culinary scene, but honestly the main thought that stays with you when you leave here is just that the food tastes incredibly good

Each dish is bigger than the sum of its parts, with complex layers of flavor blending into uniquely delicious plates. The romanesco is a standout dish - the gooseberry sikil pak is like nothing I’ve had before, and I was scraping the sauce off the plate to eat by the spoonful long after the (perfectly cooked) romanesco was gone. The picada stuns as well, a salty and smoky bite across the mussels and roe balanced by the creamy bean whip. It’s hard to not feel a bit guilty about paying for chips and salsa, but the salsa casera is worth the price of entry

Dessert doesn’t disappoint either - Kristoffer’s tres leches is prob the most renowned in the city, and while I could personally do without the chocolate, the cake’s texture and sweetness level are spot on. The tres leches tends to pull focus, but the flan de queso is tasty and a departure from the classic flan - a slightly more savory slant with perfectly creamy texture

Tacosen var mycket imponerande att titta på och ganska välsmakande. Chocken och besvikelsen kom med Chamorro de Puerco en Mole - bräserat fläskskaft. Jag tänkte beställa den så fort jag läste om den. Servitrisen (freakly loud talker - jag satte mina airpods i på Noise Cancellation och hon var fortfarande helt hörbar) föreslog snabbt det bräserade fläsket redan innan vi beställde. Nu vet jag varför. Mullvadssåsen var jättegod, bland de bättre mullvadar jag ätit i Chicago. Tyvärr täckte den ett fläsklägg som hade tillagats minst 1 och förmodligen 2 eller flera dagar tidigare. Köttet var extremt segt och torrt - raka motsatsen till vad bräserat fläsk ska vara. Värre, köttet var tråkigt grått - äckligt och en besvikelse. Vårt sällskap på tre personer tog en tugga var och kom överens om att det hade konsistensen av ryckigt. Jag är arg för att det helt klart finns en revisor i köket som valt att inte kasta ut denna trötta köttbit (2-3 dollar) och i stället pantsätta den på intet ont anande. Jag berövades en överlägsen matupplevelse men ju mer jag tänker på det, blev jag bestulen på 32 dollar. Hoppas de tar bort det här från menyn och håller sig till konstskolans tacos.

Alla tre njöt av middagen här. Sitter snabbt med reservation. Atmosfären är avslappnad och rolig. Delade chips/salsa/guacamole, fish con molo verde, plus biff- och fläskfamiljernas rätter. Mat, dryck och service var alla bra. Tack för en rolig kväll, kommer definitivt tillbaka.

Du behöver en bokning för att besöka denna populära Logan Square restaurang som är perfekt för en avslappnad utekväll med vänner för exklusiv mexikansk mat som har sina rötter i traditionella rätter. Det finns bekväma uteplats sittplatser om vädret tillåter. 
Prisvärda viner, omfattande lista över mescals och intressanta cocktails. Den alkoholfria Tepache Colada är anmärkningsvärd (läs beskrivningen på drinkmenyn och du vill prova en). Guacamole har rätt mängd eld för att väcka smaklökarna. Det finns så mycket gott på menyn, men våra favoriter var kycklinglåren och geten. Prova också Frijoles Negros Fritos (smakrika svarta bönor) som tar två dagar att förbereda och är den bästa vi någonsin haft. Även om du är fylld, dela flan och tres leigles för lite sötma för att avsluta måltiden. 
Tjänsten är exemplarisk och beröm till servitrisen (Rachel var vår server) som är kunniga och dedikerade till att förbättra din upplevelse. Vi gick med vår vän som är från Mexico City och svårt att behaga efter att ha ätit på några av Mexikos Michelin - stjärnmärkta restauranger och var så gratis att vår server tog kocken / ägaren, Diana Davila, till vårt bord. Diana är inte bara en utmärkt kock, men mycket lättillgänglig och gemenskap / familj minded. Var medveten om att checken kommer att ha en avgift för serverhälsovård som vi helhjärtat stöder.

När min dotter överraskade mig med en Mors dag behandling på Mi Tocaya Antojeria, blev jag först förbryllad av menyn och kunde inte riktigt förstå restaurangens tema. Men wow, vilken otrolig upplevelse! Vi älskade verkligen dryckerna, maten, desserten, musiken, atmosfären, och den fantastiska personalen. Jag längtar tillbaka!

Vi ätit middag här för första gången. Denna restaurang har fått ett mycket högt rykte, så vi var tvungna att prova. Här är stanslinjen: De små plattorna är gjorda av "ovanliga" ingredienser och har starka smaker. Rätter är ganska kreativa. För min smak föredrar jag dock mer gatamat, homestyle mexikansk matlagning. Eftersom dessa små plattor har starka smaker var det en upplevelse. Detta var också sant för den Cantarito tequila cocktail jag beställde. Jag letade efter en uppfriskande tequila-cocktail och denna dryck hade en stark, jäsad, evig, citrus smak. Återigen, ovanlig stark smak, men jag skulle inte vilja ha en sekund. Här är de rätter vi beställde: Aguachile, Milpa, Lechuga Asada, Chucho och Empanada.
Platsen är söt, livlig med aktivitet och ganska högt. Tjänsten var ganska bra.

Vi älskade maten på denna restaurang. Allt vi hade från tacos (de var bäst) till plattorna var mycket, mycket bra. Vi tyckte att den delade plattan för ”tapas” var lite svår att hantera (dela tacos och de andra plattorna var en slarvig satsning). Prispunkten verkade lite hög för vad vi fick med de delade plattorna också. Sammantaget var det definitivt värt det.

Varför skulle man behöva en månad för en reservation (och före 18:00 enligt tillgänglighet) för att vänta 30 minuter för ett bord som redan var öppet och få veta att stå i baren för en drink som enda bartendern var för upptagen med att gör - - för 30 minuter? Medan disken enligt rave recensioner var båda mycket välsmakande och väl presenterade, och vår bordservern mycket söt och kunnig, verkar detta vara en plats som tänker för mycket av sig själv - och det är för högt inuti för konversation. Föreslå om du verkligen vill försöka denna plats, njut av maten utomhus på uteplatsen och vara beredd att vara väldigt tålmodig. Atmosfärsklassificering: 2

Plats är så högt. Kan inte bära en normal konversation på grund av mycket hög musik! Mat är genomsnittliga och mycket pricy för de små portionerna de erbjuder. Vissa rätter är för saltiga.

Har normalt bara stannade i samma gamla haunts och haft platser som Frontera Grill etc. Detta var värt avledning, bullriga och boisterous, en rolig atmosfär och fantastisk mat till sådant värde. Bara hade 3 rätter, alla underbara och lämnade utgifterna abiut $ 40.

Har läckra små tallrikar som kan delas. Mysig avslappnad plats, svårt att få sittplatser, mycket upptagen. Vi njöt av kaktus sallad, räkor ceviche med kål och avacado, öl braised vildsvin som var så öm, nötkött burrito och avslutade det med en läcker servering av tres leches. Vi var en trio och hade lite mat kvar att ta. Tjänsten var utmärkt.

Amazing. 5 rätters provsmakning meny för Alla hjärtans dag var stor. Chiles med morel eller fläskmag var enastående. Korta revben och fiskrätt otroligt. Intressant användning av squash och många grönsaker. Kan inte vänta med att gå tillbaka

Vilken fantastisk måltid som vi hade den andra natten. Gick letar efter den särskilda restaurangen för att fira vår årsdag och hittade denna pärla i en restaurang i stadsdelen Logan Square i staden. Liten restaurang med inomhus och utomhus sittplatser. Menyn är liten men packar en imponerande lista med aptitretare, entree s, desserter och drycker. Detta är inte din typiska mexikansk / Tex Mex restaurang. Disken här är över den normala standarden och levereras i mindre portioner eftersom du kommer att vilja prova och dela med den som du äter med. Vi började med Taco och Salsa / Guacamole. Vi båda överens om rökt öl kan Taco s var de bästa Taco som vi någonsin har haft. Vid $ 4 per Taco kan du göra en rimligt prissatt måltid med två eller tre av dessa, en bit av Tres Leches Cake och en bra öl från baren. Vår entree var "Fish Con Mole Verde" och "Tuetano Con Sabores de Caldo". Fish entree var svärdfisk i en Mole Verda sås med grönsaker. Dessert - Tres Leches Cake och drycker vi hade cocktails från baren. Bästa sättet att beskriva dryckerna skulle vara där ta på en Margarita på klipporna. Tjänsten var bra men kunde ha varit bättre. Platsen är hård eftersom parkering kan vara en utmaning - kanske vill hyra eller hyra dela. Bo i NM och TX och denna restaurang är huvud och axlar över allt vi upplevt i väst.
