Right after checking into our hotel, we headed to this restaurant and had an amazing experience. The Vince sandwich was absolutely delicious, and the fish and chips were delightful as well. The owner added a personal touch, walking around and chatting with customers, which made the atmosphere even more enjoyable. I truly loved my time there and can’t recommend it enough

I bring a lot of out of town guests here, and frequently host lunch meetings & special work outings here. One of the best restaurants in downtown Chicago. You can dress up or keep it casual. The seasonal gin & tonic is something I look forward to every time! The first time I enjoyed one it had fresh basil and pink peppercorns. The staff are very accommodating and professional. The food is outstanding and can be creative. It’s an eclectic mix. There are a few times where there were some misses on flavor or execution but fairly consistent with the hits. It can get a little loud at peak times but that’s just a part of life. People are loud, ya know? Long time patron and will continue to be! I will also note that they really do a good job of accommodating food allergies. My boss is allergic to gluten, dairy and soy and it can be tough to say the least to find places that can and will look for solutions. If you see the green curry or the Big Gage on the menu, get it. Winners!

Swung by The Gage on a whim for a snack and a drink and were pleasantly surprised with this place. We weren't in the market for a full meal, but thanks to their great happy hour menu we tried the fries and a couple oysters. We were first timers with oysters and the bartenders were super helpful and friendly walking us through how to enjoy them.
The truffle fries were just ok, a little under-fried for our taste, but the flavor was there.
The cocktails were very good and prepared quickly.
We will absolutely return for a true meal next time we are in Chicago!

I was at this restaurant while visiting Chicago in the Thanksgiving weekend and the experience was excellent.

The burger was cooked to perfection, so juicy. The drink was well mixed, really delicious.

The place is Michelin recommended and they were wrong; it's a great choice.

The Gage is one of the best restaurants in downtown Chicago. Been dining here for ten years and the quality, service and staff are top notch. We celebrated a birthday here and had a great brunch. Although located on Michigan Ave, the location is key for patrons to enjoy dressing up or keeping it casual. The food is outstanding, and must try the rabbit poutine. It can get packed and loud at peak times but that’s just a part of enjoying the atmosphere at The Gage. Reservations are highly recommended.
